How's the quality?

Rated X wrote:Not to mention those beautiful cartoon accurate Bruticus feet and G2 onslaught cannons PE never bothered to make.
Do you have pics or a link for those?

Rated X wrote:I dont like the whole dino rider thing, but I love the combiner addittions. But the red toenails make me want to puke. Hoping the KO guys make the feet available with gold toe nails and ill be a buyer. Ditto for the combiner upgrades which will probably be under 30 bucks with free shipping.
And they didn't make appropriate individual weapons for the Dinobots. I really like the FoC designed sword Volcanicus has in Transformers: Earth Wars, :HASBRO: missed on to give him, and that it even can split into 5 seperate melee weapons but I guess I have to wait for Dr.Wu to make weapons for the Dinobots. But I would by the huge sword seperately without the combiner parts.

Quality is the same as the original. Heres the G2 Onslaught cannon set:

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Per ... Swm3paEom3

The hands and feet seem to be sold out but you can always send this guy a message and ask.

Heres an article about the feet and hands sets:

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/s ... t.1053584/

I have no interest in FOC but I would love to get some G1 swords and guns for all 5 dinobots. Hopefully nonneff or dr wu will take these on...

FWIW, I have several of the simple variations from Uncle Billy on order (looks like it's currently hung up in Chicago with the USPS, he ships same day or next day). However, he explained to me this is a newer set that is different from the AMO set he originally offered. The design is based on PC-09 (the bruticus style) vs the older PC-04 style.

I will give my thoughts on the pieces when they come in (scheduled delivery is Wednesday). I recommend emailing him directly to ask what he has available.

As an update, my items are hung up in customs in Chicago. No movement for 7 days. Sounds like they will be missing the Thursday deadline.

It took till Monday, but it came in. I literally can see no difference between these "simple" versions and the PC-09 they are based on.

Yes, Uncle Billy Store is a well known vendor for 3rd party and KO stuff. The only downside is that of shipping international in general, things can get stuck in customs with no movement for days/weeks/months. But that's on customs and not the vendor. He packaged the items well, and gave me a tracking number to track it from China and in the US. I would check and see if there are reviews from people who bought closer to your country, to see what they had to say about shipping (as far as timing and so forth).

All 9 of my "simple" PC-09 sets are very well done with no obvious issues.

That's not 100% accurate. I've got 5 or so sets of originals and KO's, and there are quality differences. The KO's are really good, but I have a couple that are so loose they won't even stay pegged in. Even so, for the price, and for the sheer amount of sets a guy like me needs, I'm sure happy the KO's are available.

I can only say that I didnt have that problem. I have 2 KO sets and they both plugged in fine. Whats funny is when I transferred my non-KO silver Bruticus feet to Liokaiser they were super loose. So I think its the luck of the draw. I actually found the KO ball joints tighter than the non-KOs. Fortunately, that can be fixed with a dab of glue. When it comes to plastic and paint app quality, the KOs are definitely on par with the originals. Unless you care about the feet splitting into a bunch of ugly guns, (which I dont) I recommend grabbing the KOs. On a side note, its a good thing PE is moving from ball joints to ratchets. We only wanted ankle tilt left and right. Not front and back that make the figure fall over.

Actually, front to back is pretty essential for lots of poses, so unless you enjoy having your combiners standing stock still (which is boring) they're definitely welcome. Fortunately the new feet do still have forward/backward tilts, but hopefully stronger.

Myself I'm probably gonna go with Nonnef's new foot kits as they are supposedly infinitely superior to the originals, have stable ball-ankles, TOE JOINTS and even though they don't split into guns, you can stick a gun on top and tada, turret emplacement.

I been lookin at POTP Primal and thikin... PE could do something amazing with him..

Image

First off, I've been wondering if it were at all possible to make his jet mode given what's provided. But I think that's something that'll remain unanswered until its in fan's hands.

But. They could make a piece to replace the small Primal figure. Said piece could be something not meant to detach as a seperate figure, and just make him a proper "whole" Optimal Optimus, so that the cockpit can stay on him and give him his jet mode.

Then they could release a V2 set.... exactly the same... ONLY with a Megatron head (ala Optimal Megatron from BM) andI can FINALLY have him immortalized in plastic. It's criminal that no one has done this yet...

The most amazing thing they could do is making a new one...what they already did
I was really excited for this figure when I saw the first prototype sketches and the gray model but when I saw the final product at New Yord Toy Fair the whole excitement vanished. Somehow this figure looks just boring to me and not really like an improvement to the original one (which I own). So I guess I'll stick to that one.

I'm not sure if I'd rank any version higher than the original. Including PE Beast Gorira. He's amazing, but 3P figures are pretty much all a pain in the ass (complexity wise). Maybe only an MP could do better :-?

But my hopes for POTPrimal aren't too high. I think at least he'll be fun though.

PE needs to get the ball rolling with abominus. That toy accurate head is weak. Gimmie a toon purple head with proper slanted antenna and red eyes. Maybe they can make an extension of the chest plate that makes the sides purple as well. And of course normal sized feet and hands which hasbro refuses to do for whatever reason.

Bigger feet would certainly be welcomed, as well as a decent gun for both Abominus and Hun-Grrr.
I love the head though. I love the G1 toy, I think that one's head is the coolest G1 combiner head ever.

(slanted antennae though?? do not recall...)

Heres the slanted antenne:

I just cant get into that vintage toy head. Silly yellow eyes and punk rocker glasses. I got the G1 toy already from my childhood and have been putting up with the white head for 30 years. For me CHUG is all about bringing out toon accuracy to give us the sculpts and decos they never gave us as kids. But thats just me...

I preordered PC-14X for my incoming Grand Max which were noted as to be released at roughly the same time, but I/m about to get my GM this weekend and still no word from PE on releasing it. As this is my first time preordering PE is it normal for them not to update past their ETA? I am suprised as these are basically redecoes of a previous release, so no need to redesign anything...
