He does. That's why X is always harping on Hasbro and Takara for making children's toys instead of being more adult-oriented like 3rd parties.shockblast2 wrote:If you want companies that seek out that market you need to do business with 3rd party companies.

That isn't the first time a Platinum Edition toy has also had the logo of another line on its packaging. The Target exclusive Platinum Edition releases of AOE toys were sold in AOE packaging.Randomhero wrote:Know what also is titled 'generations'? The reissue insecticons

Doesn't mean is a giant box they're shipped in.
We are way past that. Now we are worried that a generations devastator no longer assumes a new mold.
If not, then great. If so, then don't buy it. Buy a third party one to fit in with your geewun classics crap. Why does it matter? Hasbro is not releasing figures to appease middle aged toy collectors. They are selling toys to children. Awesome if what they make appeals to us. If not, then get over it. Our time is up. The eighties are long over. This isn't geewun. Its that simple.
There are WAYYYY more issues to worry about in this life other than fretting over what mold is used in a TOY.

Dont worry, I didnt take it the wrong way and I get your point of view. However, I would like to point out that since this is a transformers toy forum, fretting over what mold is used in a toy is kinda the point of a forum existing. I hang out here to give my two cents on my hopes and fears for this brand and it's figures I care for, knowing that once I click the exit button I go back to a world filled with poverty, terrorism and discrimination. Seibertron is a nice sanctuary for us fans and I dont find it fair to say we shouldnt be here doing what a forum is all about.
And as for this not being G1, I completely agree. Did you see how articulated this new Superion is?

But let's be honest, each robot would have to be the size of Leader Jetfire and a huge plastic brick to make it happen. I really do think this as a G1 reissue of Devastator in a huge box with some lovely art. Could I be wrong? Yes, do I hope I am? Yes! Do I think I'm wrong? No...

I wager this guy here is absolutely correct.
Also, please take this info with a grain of salt. I did see something official, but not enough, like with the Leader Magnus figure, to be 100% on certain aspects.

Thanks for the kind words Shockblast 2.
And as for the guy being right, well I just read the rumour that started everything. And it says this:Also, please take this info with a grain of salt. I did see something official, but not enough, like with the Leader Magnus figure, to be 100% on certain aspects.
Oh no. That means all the guy saw was a listing for Generations Devastator like we just finally saw and not much else. I read in another post that the 6 voyager size robots was also just speculation based on the listing and price, just as we are doing. So for all we know, Randomhero now has as good a chance being right than Chuckdawg or the initial person who reported the rumour.
Metro Prime wrote:The only problem with that theory is that G1 Devastator is absolutely tiny. At least the Insecticons were about Cyberverse Commander-sized, but selling 6 sub-Scout toys at a Titan pricepoint is just idiotic.
Also, Shockblast, why do you keep trying to start fights? Every time I see you in a thread, you're ranting about Geewunners and whiners. There was no argument prior to you coming here. Wanting a decent toy does not make us Geewunners.

PLEASE PLEASE explain the star wars black figures.. please.. they're very well articulated, they come in very boring black packaging, have small parts, and other accessories.. but they're a main toy line for them.. who are those directed towards?.. kids? really? with that all-black packaging with very little on it, those figures, from a series of movies that began almost 40 years ago, is directed towards children?..
where is the transformers version of the black series?.. seriously. you could say masterpiece but.. clearly hasbro has no intention of catching up on them. generations sure as hell can't be it, considering ALL of the hollow parts, no wrist or ankle joints, the fact that every new figure seems to shrink and shrink.. oh, and the fact that they've been over simplified.
so again.. why can't we have a black series? there is PLENTY of kid oriented stuff as it is. you had the entire AOE toy line which was full of mind numbingly simple toys. the new RID line is just and extension of that. same with the new generations figures which are just as simple. hasbro needs to understand that with a 30 year old brand, they're going to have 30 year old fans.

Shockwave7 wrote:The problem with making 'adult collector' transformers is it often means a more complicated transformation. Besides the fact that it takes a lot of expensive time and engineering to do that, there's also collector fatigue.
Speaking as an adult collector, who now has a fair number of the newer Tformer figures, I can say that I am coming to look on transforming them as a chore. Whether done all at once or staggered out over time, transforming every figure in my collection takes a long time and is not something I generally look forward to. Because some have transformations that are so complicated that I wind up leaving them in one mode (like Universe Deluxe Galvatron, RTS Perceptor).

You know what, the hell with it. Who am I to question? Maybe it is therapeutic for him. If so, then go for it.
So Sabre, we haven't had a good geewun debate in a while. Are you feeling combative today?

I'd faint from laughing so hard. I'd spend a whole day on the forums just to read the replies. A small part of me hopes that it ends up being a G1 reissue or even better, the Energon molds.

Colt 45 is therapeutic.
Pointing out Hasbro's poor choices is just keeping it real.
Last time I checked G1 is 30 years old. Little kids dont give a crap about Generations characters that are 30 years old. Thats why Hasbro makes goofy lines like RID and TF Prime. CHUG figures are made for adult collectors. Kids are really the afterthought for the Generations line. But sometimes the figures gimmicks dont reflect the target audience. (most recently Hasbros silly one size fits all CW feet/arms. Would it have been too hard for them to just model the hands and feet after some FP parts so it actually looks cool ? I think not...
