Getting people more active in forums... a small step, but an easy solution
- Weapon: Stinger Missile
There are players who play heavily but visit the forums only infrequently. How about, insteaed of pritning mottos for TFs and teams 100% of the time, the ticker at the top of the game space could sometimes say: "Newest topic in HMW: [link with name of topic]" or "Hottest topic in HMW: [link with name of topic]". It would help remind some people that there's a forum and also help them realize that topics of interest are being discussed.

Actually i'm the founder of the Ineptibot fanclub.
You're just the found of the M,G! fanclub.
My club's cooler than your club.
('cause my club is based on V1 Ineptibots!)

Gentlemen, gentlemen, you can both have a fanclub. But if you must worship the same thing, please fight it by way of gun duel. Nothing built on me or my Ineptibots will be dealt with in a civilized manner. Pshaw.

Gah. Whatever. Names, names. Problem is I've learned to copy-and-paste too quickly rather than not learn to quote.

eh, i'm sure some do-gooder will come along, quote (correctly) M,G!'s first post and attempt to drag it back onto topic or Killjoy Strike shows up to lock it.
Until such time, I say we enjoy it.

Now, I would just like to point out that this thread is displaying a distinct tendency to become silly.
Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do... except, perhaps my wife... and some of her friends. Oh, yes, and Captain Johnson.
Come to think of it, most people like a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point! I'm warning this thread not to get silly again! Right!

Your idea does sound like a nice one, but since I know that I hardly ever look at the space where the mottos appear... I doubt that it'd make much of a difference.

That does sound like a good idea, and I'd like to expand on it by asking if it would be possible to set it so that it is NOT pulling mottos from players who have not played in more than 3 months or so? Between the ones I see that are blank as their commander hasn't played since before the motto feature was even added to the bios and the ones from those who have been inactive for months at a time it's discouraging. Since the start of this year I've seen one of my mottos once while seeing some of the same mottos from the same inactive players multiple times in the same day.
