Is this about Tomax and Xamot? I'd hate to think they're introducing new twins, one set is enough.

Has anyone managed to find a desert viper or any of the other figures from that wave, and if so what do you think about them.

Hit the jackpot yesterday. Found a Cobra Stinger and ROC Ice Dagger. Boy, is the Ice Dagger ever win. Just curious about something, though. Are there Reprolabels of the original Joe logo available? I'm not about to taint my beautiful Dagger with the movie "logo" and bird head decals.

Nope. I did get the first (only) wave of Wal-Mart two packs, I was disappointed that shockwave is a lighter shade than I thought with a green vest. No pack either. Would've preferred a different rifle too. Another thing, what's up with the Joes and Cobras coming with the same type of guns but the actual figures don't?

Your welcome, Knowledge is useless without sharing it when others need it.

Now only if they could have the pieces in stock I need all at the same time so I can place my order soon.

:BOT: I had to get the retailer incentive cover for GI Joe: Cobra Special.

The more I think of it, I never knew Xamot & Tomax's origins in either the cartoon or Marvel/Devil's Due continuities. I've always associated them with that cartoonish gimmick where one speaks while the other finishes the thought and acrobatics. Here, I see them as actual characters. Just seeing what Xamot is feeling after the events of the previous mini-series changes the way I see him.

As for the whole symmetry aspect, it's insanely well done. Just flipped through Watchmen #5 to compare it to this issue. I love Cobra Special's meticulous detail put into the dialogue, layouts, wordballoon/caption placements matching the respective stories. Mike and Antonio really do take the symmetry idea to a new level and succeed.

I have no idea what future GI Joe books have in store for Xamot & Tomax... but I think that'll be a treat to follow them.

I really dig this issue! :CON:

What's the difference between the covers? Price? I'll probably be able to look for it on Friday. By the by, was resolute Roadblock released in one of those Wal-Mart sets?

If you mean the wal-mart 2 packs, nope.
Tunnel Rat, Shockblast, and Gung-ho were the joes for those.

I thought Roadblock was one of the figures in limbo, but his mold was used for Night Adder.

:BOT: There are two regular covers, almost mirroring each other.

The retailer incentive is the rarer cover (I think 1 per 10 copies ordered?). I paid a $6 for it, not too shabby. It combines the 2 regular covers on the front and back of the book, heightening the mirror illusion including the logo!

Image

Sorry about the quality, had to take a picture since I don't think anyone has a scan of both sides. :CON:

That issue looks like it will be excellent. Is it next week it comes out, or is it out this week? I haven't been to the comic shop this week. They usually save me Joe retailer exclusive covers, so I may be lucky enough to have that especially cool one.

Lucky enough to grab those Walmart exclusives the day they were put out, or else I would have had to eBay for them. I really like them, but the Copperhead is oddly colored, but the rest are really good! There are eBay sellers that were selling them for not too much of a markup (couple bucks per set).

I got those sets off eBay. I was talking about the mini battle sets that are a throwback to the old days. I've seen Resolute Roadblock in a few pics with Duke and Gung-Ho.

The good news is that I have the pick-up still for the post office sitting in front of me so I should have them tonight.

Well today I picked up my charbroil and night adder figures from the mailbox both amazing figures. I have to guess that charbroil is the modern version of blowtorch because they either didn't have the rights or they didn't want the figure confused with 25th anniversary version, but whatever the reason the figure is amazing it reminds me of blowtorch with a modern twist.

Charbroil is a character from the early 90's. In my opinion he was a much better figure than Blowtorch and had a better looking Flamethrower.

Thanks chuckdawg I didn't know that but it great to learn new things about joe history. I have to say that night adder is not nearly as impressive as I thought the figure would be but oh well it is still worth owning.
