Is this about Tomax and Xamot? I'd hate to think they're introducing new twins, one set is enough.

Can I read the special without reading the Cobra series since I tend to wait for TPB now adays?

The more I think of it, I never knew Xamot & Tomax's origins in either the cartoon or Marvel/Devil's Due continuities. I've always associated them with that cartoonish gimmick where one speaks while the other finishes the thought and acrobatics. Here, I see them as actual characters. Just seeing what Xamot is feeling after the events of the previous mini-series changes the way I see him.
As for the whole symmetry aspect, it's insanely well done. Just flipped through Watchmen #5 to compare it to this issue. I love Cobra Special's meticulous detail put into the dialogue, layouts, wordballoon/caption placements matching the respective stories. Mike and Antonio really do take the symmetry idea to a new level and succeed.
I have no idea what future GI Joe books have in store for Xamot & Tomax... but I think that'll be a treat to follow them.
I really dig this issue!

Tunnel Rat, Shockblast, and Gung-ho were the joes for those.
I thought Roadblock was one of the figures in limbo, but his mold was used for Night Adder.

shortround wrote:Well today I picked up my charbroil and night adder figures from the mailbox both amazing figures. I have to guess that charbroil is the modern version of blowtorch because they either didn't have the rights or they didn't want the figure confused with 25th anniversary version, but whatever the reason the figure is amazing it reminds me of blowtorch with a modern twist.
