Consistent or not, it's still official. Since when has a lack of consistency been anything new in this franchise?YoungPrime wrote:Kenny28 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Except that Exodus hasn't anything to do with G1. It's part of the modern aligned canon with War For Cybertron and Prime.YoungPrime wrote:Exodus was a huge disappointment! It contradicts itself at many points. It was like the author took a transformer-wiki crash course on g1 history and ran with it. And this is supposed to be the g1 bible?
Even if you're not a continuity nerd this book will still leave you scratching your head from all of the bad character development.
If you haven't read this book, don't bother it will only tarnish what you thought you knew about G1 history!
Which it doesn't do a good job of either...
Exactly....
It's still inconsistent, which makes this hard to take it seriously.

In fact, one of the great things about Transformers is that we each can tell whatever stories we want with whatever characters we want. How much fan fiction is there out there? Some of it really good, much of it horsehockey. But all of it the author's own. The toys spawn creativity and imagination. Let it happen! Don't try to reign it in or put boundaries on it. All that will end up happening is people will rant, get upset about every little detail and inconsistency in every piece of fiction produced. As a TF fan I can say: WFC is FUN TO PLAY!! Exodus was fun to read. The Bay movies are fun to watch. G1 is fun to experience, though it feels different now than when I was ten. Beast Wars was awesome! I did not care for the dubbing on the Unicron Trilogy, but there were some excellent toys and gimmicks in the lines. I love all of the toys! Why must any of it be shoehorned into one universe? Let it be and let the universes grow and flourish within each of our imaginations.
Man, I didn't mean to rant like that. I guess work has been just that stressful.
1. They didn't just then discover it. They discovered a new source of it. They were aware of Dark Energon prior to the present.DoctorZero986 wrote:It wouldn't have been a problem for them to be in the same continuity if they actually fit together. In War for Cybertron they used Dark energon all the time and yet in the show they only now discovered it.
