I don't understand your phrasing. Is that the price you want to pay, or is the the price they'll go for? For the set or Each?
Anyway, those premium TrU prices sure are scalper proof.

Your right, my phrasing was off. I meant that I 40$ is the max I would pay for these toys. The price they will go for has already been said to be around 100$.

Those original Go Bots are actually quite awesome, and apparently making a comeback.
The Insecticons are among the most devious of all Decepticon allies. Pure mercenaries, they will join the battle only when it serves their own purposes, and usually only if they are offered large stacks of Energon cubes in return for their allegiance. Insecticon Bombshell, Kickback, and Skrapnel were the first Insecticons found on Earth, and the first to be lured to the Decepticon cause.
This sneaky trio of Insecticons figures are just the mercenaries for your Transformers adventures! Your Skrapnel, Insecticon Bombshell and Kickback figures all have unique powers, and they all come with blasters and Energon cubes to pay them for their attacks. Whether they’re in insect mode or robot mode, the Transformers action will be epic!

So it seems that Kmart will be a brick and mortar store with exclusivity to these while they can still be obtained on BBTs, as was always the case with previous platinums.

Are you assuming that BBTS gets these for thew same cost as Kmart?
Personally, while I am not interested in these, I find that there is hope that the Coneheads will be coming to BBTS.

No, I was assuming their overhead costs were less than KMart's. Their suppliers might be different but since I am not sure, I didnt factor it in. Their overhead is far less though, that is certain, and the trend is that they sell at a cheaper price too.
And I never ever had a doubt that BBTS would get the coneheads. I can guarantee it. Someone let me know if I am wrong but BBTS has carries every transformers toy (takara or hasbro) with the exception of Convention Exclusives.

I think they even carry at least some of the convention exclusives too. (I've seen Botcon figures and I remember SDCC Metroplex as well as a Hong Kong convention Metroplex, if memory serves.)
(And not to derail the conversation too much, I know what you mean about less overhead, but BBTS is a small time store, not a big retail chain. They still have overhead that may even be larger than expected. I used to work for a comic shop, and you'd be surprised by the overhead costs. But, without knowing what the per unit cost is, it's hard to jump to a conclusion that BBTS is price gouging. Now, fairness in reporting: BBTS is just over the MN/WI border from me and I do think very highly of them. They have taken very good care of me. SO I will be quick to jump in and defend them.)

Sounds fair, and its nice to see passion for the hobby and the outlets that help us enjoy it. All I really meant was that KMART and Toysrus were accused of price gouging with those insecticons and it is now releaved that BBTS charges the same price. We can all take that as we wish.
And also, because I am still a bit sour on the subject, BBTS did price gouge on Windblade. It was not a lot mind you, BUT she was priced higher than her wavemates and they all sold for the same price at brick and mortar retail (as they obviously should), and I did find that to be a d!ck move. Sorry to be bringing up the past, they also did help me too in getting toys I couldnt find anywhere else, at fair prices. But in times where collecting TFs is really big with a bunch of exclusives and fun stuff coming out with little money to go around (add to that a sinking canadian dollar), I am a bit more keen to prices.

A friend of mine recently saw Year of the whatever Soundwave at Toys R' Us here in Canada and it was $220!!! Not on your life for that ugly coloured monstrosity.
What's with the price hike?
