Agreed: that would've been the more genius idea. However, it appears that Reflector's weapon mode is a nod to Shrapnel's original toy's weapon.

Can I be the one that points out that ALL of the exclusives outside of the Platinum are just redecos? And the Platinum Line is comprised of redeco/retools.

I'm calling it now that the fan built bot will be regular retail.

Well Hasbro's SDCC press release say the figure will be released late 2014, meaning it will be released during the forth quarter/holiday season. If hasbro's smart, they'll make it a retail exclusive, or bill it as a special edition and release it for mass retail.

More like a third, not a half.

As for Windblade being exclusive, I really hope not. Like I've said before, if fans helped create this character, then it should be available for general release.

Somehow, I doubt it will be three-to-four times the price of whatever size class it is.

well if deluxe generations are around 15 retail, and the fanbot's $30 then it's only double the price.

Also some people are already speculating that the figure will not me a new mold, but instead armada starscream retooled and repainted..........because that makes sense

Oh, God, please don't say that. I love the Generations toy like my proverbial firstborn son, but the only redecos/retools I'll accept are Thundercraker, Skywarp, and Ramjet. Having a female Autobot come out of this, while it does seem to make plenty of sense, would devastate me to no end.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. With this much love going into a brand new character, it would be awfully disappointing had they done a cheap retool and redeco of Armada Starscream.

i guess there has been no mention of MP sideswipe coming over.

which, so far, i'm correct. it's a shame. i wouldn't have minded owning two of them and see what sort of extras hasbro may have added.

oh well.

i guess the only news that i'm really looking forward is seeing photos or teasers of MP wheeljack and bumblebee.

i was really hoping we'd get a few more beast era toys.

but no, we get minicons and REALLY CHEAP looking deluxe toys, and ONE voyager.

i was super excited for an armada deluxe starscream, but i'm no longer excited. the original armada starscream looks better than this. i can't believe they couldn't even get a toon accurate armada starscream right.

they should've just retooled the original and added some articulation. what a bummer.

sorry, i don't want to rain on anyones parade. but i'd rather them try new stuff with a new show rather than flooding the generations line with it.

Armada Starscream? Wow, I must be living right. I've always wanted one of these, and this is actually an improved version! I don't even care if it's just a deluxe and not voyager class!

You know, I think I've spotted why I adore these Minicon figures on first look: they remind of my beloved PCCs. They're clunky, small and combine into something which doesn't look lile it can stand on its own. But has a nice headsculpt and some sort of joints!

I wonder if Windblade isn't a nod to Nijika from G1:

They don't share a design other than Japanese theatre. The head crest and face markings are different. Unless some designer comes out and says that they thought of an old episode when working on the character, I'm going to remain doubtful.
