Hey all, since the AoE line is supposed to be out officially in one month I'm gonna repaint my Evasion Optimus to be more screen accurate.

I've asked my friends at my local hobby shop and they told me to do the following:

1. Prime in Black
2. Airbrush/brush in Medium Brown
3. Lightly Stipple in darker brown
4. Keep Stippling in lighter colours from brown to beige

I've trusted my friends there since we were kids (and they had honours art when we were kids) but I want to know if there is/are easier way(s) (unless this is the easiest) since this will eat up more time than I would like to.

A reply or a PM will be much appreciated since I had my hopes up for the TakTom release (fat lot of good that was) and I'm a stickler for screen accuracy.

And just a note: NO I am not gonna do the flames. That will be too tedious for me with my banged up hand.

Not sure it would be less work, but I don't like stippling, so if it were me,
1. Prime with Black
2. Basecoat a medium brown
3. Do a very dark brown or red wash (liberally)
4. Drybrush lighter brown to beige in 3-4 gradiations

Like I said, may not be any easier but at least it's an alternate method.

If you're really good with an airbrush, you could probably get a similar look with some masking.
