Im not sure if we are getting minicons back, but the code that was used for minicons will probably get used in a modified form for the verious masters in later versions of the game.

I seriously hope that if mini-cons return they act like a weapon upgrade that can be transfered between units that kicks in during battle that if depleated would need recovery time rather than the expendable batteries they were in this version.

It would also be better if they are specials like keys instead of buying them like slave labor. (seeing bots/maxis would befriend them, and 'cons would just take them anyways)

I tried using them a couple times and found them to be a waste of credits.

Plus if made into specials, and given the ability to name them, them some players who want to keep using some names would have the ability to use their names without the need for the same amount of units.

The testers have a dropdown named 'powerlink' in our characters screen but nothing has been activated for beta so far, so there will be something minicon/masters-like there, but we dont know what yet.

I think the system should be that every team starts with 1 Mini-Con, then claiming them during missions and maybe an award for arena bouts.

...Its a good idea which maybe OS will pick up on, but mostly you'll be stealing it from the corpses of your fallen enemies.

Dunno how minicons will be found/used yet though, OS has kept them quiet in the beta so far, but when the WarMap upgrade is added later, different regions will yield different bounties and opponents, then the search will really be on for the best alts, guns and other shiny stuff.

There will be exactly that kind of elimination match in HMW2, but the current game cant handle missions like that unfortunately.

If you can work out a way to do it between yourselves in the arena then ill do what I can to help though.

As for your original question; 'will the pages load faster than it does now when hmw2 happens?'... Well, so far the beta has been quicker both to load and to play as the registry has been rebuilt to be much easier to use, and weve got a PHP upgrade with the sever switch.

We'll have to wait and see what the effect of 2000 players all trying to steal each others names at once is like but the beta survived the server switch with no issues so it looks good and stable.
