How come the number of decepticons is always so high ?
Like in the movie the revenge of the fallen their is one scene were they are on nemesis and they have hatchlings. How come the Autobots don't reproduce this way to build a big army. I don't know much about the comics or animated series so I'm not sure there is a reason for that. But every movie the decepticons have such large armies and the autobots have only like six.

It's basically the same thing as redshirts in Star Trek or Stormtroopers in Star Wars. They're there to give an impression of insurmountable odds.
And as far as I know the "hatchlings" were introduced in the movieverse, and from what I can tell it's a sick Decepticon experiment, which is why the Autobots don't do it.
