While there are several options for handling how to make things look like they are flying in stop motion videos, anyone who is new, or relatively new, probably struggles with that issue. In an ideal world, everyone has the skills, lighting, equipment and software to use a green screen, and do it well. Naturally, it is the best technique when employed properly. However, it isn't the only option, for those starting out especially. There are several cheats, such as figure stands, keeping your hand out of the shot, pliers, wires and so on. There is also the option of photo layering applications. So, what works best and worst? Is some kind of mix maybe the most effective? Check out my thoughts on a few options and what might work best as a starting point for someone looking to build there skills!
