Haven't posted here in a while, some of you may know me as Quintesson #1 or HanSime.

Right, some of you may have seen this already over at TFW2005's Radicons Discussion and Resources. Posting it here to see if I can get more feedback, suggestions, etc.

Though I do not have the resources, experience and time to kitbash, I've been working on creating a workable concept design for a combiner of an as Grandus repainted Tidal Wave (slightly remolded at the head and perhaps with a bit better leg articulation), a scratchbuild Sky Garry and a trailer for Classics Optimus Prime.

I got this idea when I made this Grandus digibash for fun and giggles:


As Tidal Wave is made up of three seperate parts, I realised it had the potential to become a proper Battlestar (combined mode) of the aforementioned three. Then I thought: why not combine them as a giant robot too!?





So basically in terms of combination I've been getting my inspiration from Star Convoy, Sky Garry, Grandus, Powermaster Optimus Prime and some other bots.

Grandus
Not much different from Tidal Wave, but he'll now become a flightbackpack for Battlestar Convoy consisting of the Battleship and Hovercraft sections (using the midbattleship connector to link up with Battlestar Convoy's spine)

Sky Garry:
Apart from his regular old school modes, Sky Garry will split up in three main parts that can transform into seperate shuttles and combine with Grandus in vehicle mode (his legs in between aircraft carrier and battleship and his torso in between battleship and hovercraft. He'll also form the arms and side and spine of the torso of Battlestar Convoy. Inside his torso Battlestar Convoy's head will reside.

Classics Optimus Prime:
Optimus should link up pretty much like PM Optimus Prime, just with his legs sideways and aimed upwards to fit in between the Sky Garry torso bits. The biggest new thing would be his trailer, which I want to give a spaceship mode that could link up in between Grandus' hovercraft part and Sky Garry's torso. Resulting in the largest vehicle combiner ever! Bigger than Big Powered! In Battlestar Convoy mode, the trailer would of course be the pants.

Micromasters partners (Minicon repaints):
Spinner - Prowl (the police racecar to gun Minicon)
Shotbomber - 'Land Military Team' Wreckage repainted white/orange.
Hot Rodimus - Not sure yet - perhaps Legends Hot Rod?
Roller/HiQ - Scratch built Minicon (see below)

this looks awesome. can't wait to see a colored full body drawing!

i especially would like to know your plans for the big op head. i had some ideas for a new pm op, but didnt know how to make an updated head, i just paint, retools aren't my thing.

I really like the concept but even better, I love your drawings. Great work! You should consider working in toy design if you aren't already in the field.
