Let this be a warning to anyone thinking of using maphacks.

Annoyingly, I just got myself banned from ladder games on WC3 and my acc with almost 1,000 games on profile deleted.
This is because I was foolish enough to use a maphack.
The hacking community is highly competitive and those people will do anything they can to get one up on a rival, even getting dozens or maybe even hundreds of players banned.

You got caught by other cheaters while you were cheating, and now you have been banned?

I was using a maphack made by a well known hacker that was only available to members of a private forum that I belong to. Somebody in the private forum (a double agent) leaked the maphack to a rival hacking forum, the top hacker on that forum then gave all the tech details to Blizzard admin, who put the details into 'Warden', the anti-hack tool they use, and we all got banned.
Of course, the rival group continue to use their own, still secret hack, without our competition.

Getting caught, is weaker.

So if you know the cheaters that got you banned, why don't you report them and get them all banned too?
Or is there some kind of "honour among thieves" thing?

Either way, I would report them if I were you.
