The launch of Takara's Optimus Prime has the Twincast crew in a tizzy. Is this innovation the revolution we've been looking for? Is it all hype? Who will get the Missing Link treatment next?
We take a slight detour to Studio Series TFTM's first Commander Class figure: Ultra Magnus. After we get through the mechanics and features exciting us about Magnus, we move on to a few of the Optimus Primes giving us life.
Word on the street is that Transformers Rise of the Beasts bottoms out with the lowest performing box office in the franchise. We sharpen our pencils and take out our calculators to investigate.
Part 5 of our '40 by 40' segment is upon us: we travel in the way back machine to discuss our favorite Transformers release in a given year. The year is: 1988.
We wrap up with a round of bragging rights that are warped right into space.

@ScottyP- I wish I was able to make this episode! When I was preparing for it we would have raced for the Powermaster Optimus Prime for the 40 for 40- That was my first real experience with Prime- so much so that I was blown away by the "amazing G2 remold that totally captured how Prime looked." Just like G1- that guy had an amazing base mode, as well as everything you could want from the play pattern!

I would love to see G1 Rodimus Prime get the Missing Link treatment. He seems like one that wouldn't be too difficult to pull off.

Of course, Missing Link will never be complete until they give us a fully articulated G1 Wheelie. I mean, that would be how you would polish a turd.
