Not at all. Majority of Filipinos drive Japanese cars (and pretty much comprise a chunk of the tuner/ricer community).

Initially, I bought Barricade merely because I own a 2005 Mustang. But shortly before the movie came out, the robot design grew on me. Not as good as BT Grimlock or Wheeljack, but still a great toy.

that's right im not sure if the buyers or hunters of barricade figures are even aware that barricade is a ford mustang, primarily even non collectors hunt barricade toys due to the details and the movie i even checked ebay.ph and see some bids about barricade and just to prove that he is in scarcity here he's currently been bid for almost 2,000 like let's say 40 to 45$ at converstion

I got the last Barricade in the walmart I was at.

It's stubborn when transforming back to vehicle mode, and the switch to activate the arm action is kinda tough, but nonetheless it's still great. I <3 Mustangs.

On the contrary, Filipinos buy Japanese cars for practical reasons. They're cheap. They're everywhere. Which means you've got service centers everywhere. And they're reliable.

Recently more and more Filipinos are even switching to Korean cars. Even cheaper.

Most Filipinos CAN'T afford American cars. Especially icon cars and muscle cars.

But the reality is, FIlipinos worship most of anything American, including cars. Especially from lower middle class downwards. And they comprise the majority of the Filipino populace. Practically, something in the vicinity of 90%.

Is the Ford Mustang particularly prominent in Filipino pop culture?

Definitely.

Take it from people on the ground.

The Cop car's cool in the movie but the robot design and toy are a dud in my opinion.

lets hold out hope for a Larger Voyager class. I would personally love them all in Leader but that's not possible.

Never heard of the movie, but it was filmed/based in Richmond? Richmond of the Bay is worst than Oakland...a state of emergency was about to be declared several years ago.

There are a lot of Beatnik bars and cafes in Berkeley and sf, especially Sf, with Jack Kerouac and his influence on the city.
