To surprise you there actually, they wanted it to be a beetle. But yeah, I can agree Vw were being idiots, so sadly, the modern Bumblebee was never made. But, some hints it was a beetle is his chest. In 2006, they had those round tail lights actually. But yes, since Vw was like"We DoN't WaNt WaR tOyS" he never got to exist.

All I can say is just wait, since porsche is owned by VW, we may soon get a masterpiece jazz. We just gotta wait for vw to slap some sense in them.

Re: The TF you want but you know HasTak will NEVER make
I don't know if I'll be able to articulate what I'm visualizing well enough, but a series of toys that are an inversion of the "Bee-1" design aesthetic. Whereas Bee-1 is taking the classic 80's silhouettes and spray-painting live action greeble on them, this would be taking the live action designs and reimagining them as though they were animated by Sunbow, with large chunks of the vehicle mode clearly corresponding with parts of the robot mode, with less cluttered, more simplified textures than they have with live action's snibbles and bits design philosophy. This wouldn't be like WFC barricade, where they took the 'bayification' process and played it in reverse; the best way I can think of to describe it would be look at how SS-38 BB Prime and WFC-E11 Prime are live action and 'classic' versions of G1, this hypothetical "SunBay" line would have a WFC-esque version of Bayverse Optimus.

The Generations figure wasn't bad, but it should have been a voyager. It fixed the stupidity of the rigid back the Armada voyager had (ultra, whatever) but overall it was flimsy, and I always thought Starscream deserved a larger figure in every line for being such a prominent character.-Kanrabat- wrote:Well, there's that guy who keep wishing for Armada MP figures.

Indeed, the deluxe Armada Starscream is good, but there should be a new voyager mold.
And yes, Humans DO count. I would like the RED series to tackle the human characters with faces options and accessories. Sure, they would never scale with any transformers, but there is too many TF humans I want as figures. Especially in Black/Red/Marvel Legends scale.
But we all know THAT will never happen.

Personally I would really love to see them do a whole bunch of humans across all lines and movies in the modern 4" Joe style, especially Kicker to make up for the poorly painted original figures (the Microman figure is really nice, though). They could really build a whole line just around that. If not Hasbro then maybe Super7? Feels like something they would do in ReAction style.

Is that the Microman scale? If yes, it would be even more awesome if there would be compatible Transformers in scale with them.
How about a DIACLONE / Transformers Xover line? That would be more than feasible.

Here's the thing - most car TFs since RiD (2001) have been in a rough 1:32 scale ballpark (with the exception of Studio Series) and the other TFs have tried to be in robot mode scale with them. And in 1:32 scale, 2 1/4" = 6'. So 2-2 1/4" is the right size for humans compared to the actual robot toys.

I'll be honest. I don't care about scaling human figures with the transformers. That's been a lost cause since... god, 1984 probably. Just gimme some good toys with good articulation and accessories.

Me too. That's why I think the best option is for the RED Series to have human characters mixed among the Transformers. And how about the scale? The RED Series already doesn't care about scale. So it can work.

Same. The cartoon didn't care about human scale and neither do I. 2 1/4" would be fine for Masterpiece, but not for Generations. For Generations we shouldn't want anything bigger than a Titan Master at which point they may as well just be the mini Jada diecast figures like we've also seen from G.I.Joe. Personally I'd rather have an action figure that can do things than a tiny thing that can't. In a perfect world we'd have 1", 2", 4", and 6" figures of all of our favorite humans, but Hasbro has never considered Transformers humans worth their time, certainly not sold on their own.

I wouldn't mind a set of human figures. Bonus points if they model them after Titan Masters so you could have them drive those toys.
I have the old Impossible Toys Spike, Sparkplug, and the Exosuit guys and liked them for what they were.
But they'd have to paint them. The crap they pulled with the weapon set that came with the Centurion Drone? That wouldn't work with small figures.
I'd like an actual, transforming, Kranix and Arblus, though. They are the very last in a long list of movie characters without toys, ever. Scrape the bottom of that barrel, Hasbro!

ok, so since TT Selects are on a trend of re-releases with slight additional accessories at the moment, this is the one I would want most, but doubt it will happen-- Battle Gaia- a straight up UW Bruticus repaint seems easy enough, but for Guard City...I would want kind of a BIG Extra....
I would like it to come with the 4 Micromaster Combiners with maybe a part-or two remolded so that it could actually make a functional Scrum Formation:
These sets were last released in Japan in 2002, and were repainted/renamed for the Universe line sold in KB I want to say around 2003/04...something like that.
Or alternatively, if they re-released battle Gaia and Guard City, maybe just release the 4 Micro-Combiners separately, but as a single set with all 4 together, with the tooling needed, of course, to make a viable Scrum Formation
.
I realize it can technically be done now with CW/UW Defensor, (and some creativity, since no official way to link them together exists) but alas while at one time I did have the Universe Combiners, I sold them back in 2007. One of the only real regrets of selling my previous collection, seeing as now they are kind of expensive on the secondary market if 100% complete.

Well, I care about human scale, at least within a reasonable margin (I.E., adult humans should not come up short next to VW Beetles and lowriding sports cars).Emerje wrote:RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:In my opinion, that's already too big and makes for LESS play options.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:I'd rather see humans in 2 1/4" size, myself.

You seem to have Generations confused with Cybertron and its penchant for rendering the robot modes oversizeEmerje wrote:2 1/4" would be fine for Masterpiece, but not for Generations. Also, it's not exactly a great comparison considering Titan Masters are separated legs away from having better articulation than the average '90s 3 1/4" action figure (and, sadly, the average 2010s 12" action figure

Then why do you think we shouldn't want anything bigger than a Titan Master for Generations? The Titan Masters are grossly and obviously undersize compared to the robot and car modes; it's the Dianaut problem all over again.Emerje wrote:Personally I'd rather have an action figure that can do things than a tiny thing that can't.
Whereas 2 1/4" would scale passably with most things from RiD to present and would easily give room for that healthy range of motion you say you desire.

Remember these RotF / DotM Human Alliance figures?

I think those same human figures that can ride the robots would be the PERFECT thing for a true Transformers VS GI-Joe line to happen.

After getting figures from all these crossovers, I would love to see a TF-Robocop crossover, but with a transformable ED-209.

I would love for Hasbro to make a contest to create a brand new character. But the entries would be customs of original characters made by the public. A bit like Lego do for their Lego Idea line. I'm sure I'm not alone in making Frankensformers and I would love to see an official Transformers based on one of my mad design entering the canon and becoming a mainline toy.

Would you love a "Transformers Idea" line?

Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK
