The G1 Dinobot thread

Postby Dailygeek » Mon Mar 19, 2007 6:17 pm

So, I've just got into collecting the dinobots.

So I pose the ultimate question...

Which is your favourite and why.

Also, how come seibertron doesn't have any dinobot galleries?[/b]

Sludge was the first dinobot I received... from my aunt I think. The only one I had for about 10 years too, I guess, so he has a special spot. Then I got the G2 Grimlock (grey) right after he came out along with the Movie Edition of Leonardo.

Kinda made Sludge all the more cool when he wasn't rereleased with Snarl, Slag and Grimlock.

...Always wanted Swoop.

i always thought sludge was one of the better figures as well. Dinobots are on my list of toys that i need to replace. I also loved my swoop but when i acquired him he was already sans beak...i didnt care at the time, i was about 10 and just happy to finally have a swoop.

i've also wondered about the dino galleries...

G2 Slag was the only Dinobot ever in my possession. His colors were surprisingly subdued for G2.

The Dinobots were the bane of my Transformers existence. I've had them all, but never all at the same time. As soon as I completed one part of the collection, something would happen to another. I've had Swoop twice, both times he lost his head. As soon as I received Sludge in good condition, my Grimlock busted apart.

Grimlock has always been my favorite cause he's a T Rex. Snarl and swoop are both a close second cause I had them, along with Grimlock, back in the day.
I Do not have any of my Transformers from my childhood, but The Dinobots were some of the first Tfs I re-aquired when I began collecting in the early to mid 90's. I am very proud of my Complete near mint set of Dinobots.
As for the galleries...I bet Seibertron is waiting to get the Daiaclone and G2 versions of the Dinobots.

ME GRIMLOCK KING!!

I have G2 Blue Grimlock and G2 Grey Slag.

G1 Dinobots are really pricey, so I doubt I'll be getting any more anytime soon. I wish I had a G2 Grey Grimlock, as I would assume he'd be a cheaper alternative to G1 Grim, but I don't see him a lot, so I'm guessing either he's rare, or people try to pass him off as G1 Grimlock and make more money.

I always liked Swoop best from the show but I never owned him. Or any of the others for that matter. I do have a pretty worn Slag I got from a friend but I'm not so keen on him. Maybe if he had some of the weapons or if he could pop out both fists. Or... well that list goes on. I'd absolutley adore reissues of them all though.

I only have the SWTF ones (and things of beauty they are), but I can say without shaddow of doubt, that Grimlock is the best.

Snarl, cause he was a steg. Coincidently, he is also the only Dinobot I have, in G2 form, gotten at the flea market couple years ago, missing half his tail sadly. Oh well, at least I have him  .
