I finally decided to grab Kat from the Halo Reach toyline after seeing her in action. Walmart had a few last time I was there, so I made a trip up there and grabbed her. While I was shopping, I found a Warthog in the clearence section with a pretty f**ked up box. I bought it without giving it much atention and headed home.

Once I got to fixing it up, I noticed it looked off. It's the Muddy Warthog TRU exclusive! My best guess is that somebody ripped off the TrU silver sticker and returned it to the nearest retailer, where it sat until I got it for $19.

Got me thinking, has anyone else ever bought an exclusive from a store it shouldn't be at?

I got my "Only at Target" Allspark power BB At wal mart once, almost mimicking your story up there. 6-7 bucks on clearence in a Trashed box. The "Only at Target" Sticker was NOT Removed though, and I only noticed once I got home.

I went to the Wal-Mart near me and they had 2 of the Warthogs. I had been holding off on getting one because of the price, but $19 is a great deal. The 2 of them were also the TRU muddy version. When I got it home and studied the box, under the sticker where it says "Exclusive Mud Splattered Edition" I found a perfect matching black circle sticker (the box is mostly black) covering something. I scratched the black sticker off and sure enough it was the silver TRU exclusive sticker underneath. My theory is maybe McFarlane had back stock after what they considered to be the time frame for it to be a TRU exclusive and made the black circles and put them on the boxes and shipped them out. I doubt WM would have purchased a bunch of TRU exclusives and covered the mark to sell them?

Conspiracy maybe? :-?

There is just something about Wal Mart having Target exclusive Halo merch. I've gotten a few of the Reach exclusive figures and a few of the Halo Mega Block exclusives, all with the "only at Target" stickers still on at Wal Mart. The cashier chuckled a little bit and just rang them up anyway. They didn't scan and they just charged what the other similar items on the shelf were.

I've seen this at more than one Wal Mart so I wonder if a few boxes got sent to the wrong warehouse. Also, it should be noted that most of the employees at the Wal Marts around where I live just don't give a ****. Nothing is ever stocked fully and they won't even put out any new DotM deluxes until they sell through their whole endcap full of their exclusive deluxe Primes.
Damn I really hate my Wal Mart...
