The pics suck, I'll hopefully have some better ones later tomorrow. This will be finished up in another three weeks, can't wait.

The areas closest to my inner arm / armpit were a little sensitive, but other than that, no pain whatsoever. It's all mind over matter. :D

Very cool. Like the others, I can't wait to see the finished product.

I've never gotten a good picture of my tattoo.

Since it's a tattoo...

I'm guessing yes...

But that looks killer

Why did you just have the outline done and not the shading as well?

Wait, what do you mean if? I did get it inked and it took two hours for the outline, which isn't that bad at all.

Malikon wrote:Why did you just have the outline done and not the shading as well?

He only had time to do the outline. He's going to add all the extra detail, all the shading, and all of the color on my next session, which is September 18th.

I think he was referring to the colors and shading. Correct me if I'm wrong here Trunks.

I can tell not many here are familiar with the tattoo process...

Anyway, nice ink! I can't wait to see it finished!

I think it's always a 2 step process. You can't do outlines and color-fill at the same time.

Actually, yes you can. More accurately, depending upon the amount of time it takes to do the tattoo because of size, ans complexity, it is possible to do the entire tattoo in one sitting. But yes, they do first do the outlines then color and shade. They can all be done in one sitting or over multiple sessions. Watch Miami Ink and L.A. Ink on TLC. Great shows and they give a unique insight into the tattoo industry.

I've always wanted a tat, but was afraid I'd regret it years later. I'd be a 90 year old man with an autobot on me! I'm still considering it though.

There's a possible problem scenario. By the time you're 65, and you've decided to switch allegiance to Decepticon...

The only time I've seen or had tattoos done in multiple sessions are when it was really, really big. I have one that covers the top of my shoulder, goes up my neck, down my arm, and across my chest and back. I've got a good 8-9 hours put into it so far and it's still not done. But all the other ones were done in one sitting, usually about 2-3 hours.

The one in my avatar was done on my inside left wrist and took maybe 1.5-2.5 hours.

And don't worry about what you'll look like when you're 90.

1.) When you're 90 you wont care what you like, the tattoo might be the only thing on your that still looks good.
2.) You'd be the coolest Grandpa on the block
3.) Chicks in retirement homes dig tattoos, grandma down the hall will be so enchanted she'll pop her dentures out and......
4.) You might not live to be that old
5.) Live for the day my man. If you want an Autobot tattoo, then go get one. Embrace your life.
