What was wrong with Wheeljack?

I thought Wheeljack was kind of humorous rather than annoying.

I liked how Wheeljack would just conjure up the VERY device that the Autobots needed to nullify the effects of whatever harbinger of doom the Decepticons conjured up.

Megatron develops a transfixitron that permanently freezes any Autobot it hits with its beam? No problem, Wheeljack(with the help of Sparkplug) will come up with an ANTI-transfixitron in a mere matter of minutes.

And then there's the devices that Wheeljack builds just for the hell of it, but which ultimately finds its way into Megatron's hands and will spell doom for Earth if the Autobots don't stop him.

And let's not forget: "hey, let's build robot dinosaurs, but give them the brains of real dinosaurs so that they're so dumb, they attack anybody in sight, including the Autobots!"

Ah, good ol' Wheeljack.

I'll be objective and admit that I can see how Kup and Perceptor could be considered annoying, but, IMHO you just can't knock Wheeljack. He's the coolest of the Geekbots.

I will agree with you on Energon Ironhide and Quickstrike being annoying....but BW Rattrap was MEANT to be annoying, so he did his job quite well! I used to be annoyed with him too, but I grew to enjoy his annoyance factor!

Blurr? I mentioned that earlier.... he sucked bad. How do you kill off bad ass Transformers like Prowl, Skywarp, Wheeljack... and replace them with the Micro Machines guy

I grew to totally agree with you! His character, in my opinion, was one that grew the most in Beast Wars and Beast Machines....In the first season of Beast Wars, he was a TF that was definitely NOT a team player....and what he became was quite a different story!

Exactly, I liked Rattrap, his annoyance factor is what brought the comic relief to the show, especially the character dynamics that he had in his interactions with good ol' Chopperface!

Huffer cos hes so depressing.

i like Ratrap but i always thought he was a little silly to call a velocorapter chopper face when Dinobot in 3 times or more his size.

Dinobot is awesome.

So many of the G1 characters are annoying EXCEPT in the episodes that feature them, Powerglide and Tracks for example.
Warpath has to be the most consistently annoying character, though I've found you can stand him better if you interject swear words into his explosion sounds. Seaspray has the most annoying voice, I watch "Sea Change" with the sound off and it's alot better.
