I've heard that the first Mortal Kombat film (A very good VG Adaptation, oddly enough, directed by Paul WS Anderson, although it was extremely close to source material), and one or both Tomb Raider films did pretty good.

I actually though they did well with Tomb Raider.

I have odd taste in movies.

Or you simply no how to sit back and enjoy a movie and not over-analyse it.

Paul Anderson? I mean seriously, you gotta be sh*ttin' me.

Apparently your idea of a good movie must be no more complex than a hot girl, guns, and explosions.

Shadowman, Shadowman, Shadowman...Paul W.S. Anderson? For shame! :P

Seriously, I thought the first Mortal Kombat movie was good in that it was as good an adaptation of a video game as a movie can be. I don't really see how Mortal Kombat could have been done any better on film. It was certainly the most faithful of all the VG movie adaptations that I've seen (except for maybe the Street Fighter II anime).

Tomb Raider bored me to tears, though. I didn't watch the sequel.

I found it funny that at their height of their "war", Street Fighter II was more popular (in my area at least) than Mortal Kombat.

Yet when it came to the movies, MK won hands down over that pitiful SF movie.
That's what you get for hiring Kylie Minogue you idiots.

Kylie Minogue? There's nothing wrong with Kylie or anyone else who's ever been in the fantastic Neighbours.

I believe the film was doomed when they cast Van Damme.

"Colonel Guile, have you lost your mind?"

"No. You've lost your balls."

O, and that stealth boat that turns invisible but one can still tell where it is as one can still see the waves it's making.

Should've hired Stefan Dennis. He is seven kinds of brilliant.

She's fine, apart from her music and her acting (though I've only seen her in Neighbours and Street Fighter).

It's a waste of time trying to convince me of her good points. I don't like her, whatever she does. I insist you guys keep her, make her a citizen, then take her passport so she can't leave!

I'd rather we didn't. I don't really like her that much. I'll happily take Lyn Scully from Neighbours, though.

How did she land the role of Cammie, anyway?

My memory is vague but I think the actual movie may have been filmed in Australia.

And with her being the biggest female star in Australia at the time ... :?

Was she big during the making of SF? I thought that was her quiet period, between her Eighties endeavours and her more recent successes.

Why did we end up with Kylie and yet the U.S. landed Jesse Spencer and Alan Dale?

Probably some secret deal between the US government and the Australian government. No doubt they're using it as a basis for their refugee plan to send to swap Cuban refugees for Indonesian refugees.

It's all Kylie's fault.
And Kylie was in Street Fighter.
Which was a movie adaption of a video game.

Like Prince of Persia was. See! We're still on topic!

It's funny, I used that same sentence--Though in a positive light--to describe the perfect movie to my dad.

Because I don't over analyze movies until I've watched them five times or more.

Well, a bit of good news from the Prince of Persia movie, or at least a rumor to go along with the Bay rumor.

So it's possible Bruckheimer will keep the movie as awesome as the game.

IMDB, even though they're unreliable, have Bruckheimer producing as well.

I heard about that. Jerry Bruckheimer is good at films like these.

Disney is probably better than most, because Sands of Time was about as family friendly as Pirates of the Carribean. Not nearly as adult-oriented as Warrior Within, but I don't know about Two Thrones. (Haven't played that one yet)
