The new TakaraTomy Transformers Movie website is now online for your viewing pleasure. The site includes a flash intro featuring some of the Transformers from the film, listings for some of the movie toys, both Autobots and Decepticons as well as some new downloadable wallpapers

Are those pictures of Ratchet and Jazz real pics of actual Takara versions of the movie figures, or just placeholder pics? Because this version of Ratchet has much better fingers, and both he and Jazz look much better than what we're getting from Hasbro. :/

Worth noting the new stock photo of Ratchet is the Autobot figures listing section, with a buzzsaw on his arm.

I can't speak for Ratchet, but looking at Jazz, that stock photo is the exact same one from the North American release. I'm looking at my MOC Movie Jazz (that I still haven't opened) right now it's the same one...

Those wallpapers make Blackout and Barricade look very nice, but thats mainly because you cant really see detail on their heads.

That new picture of Jazz looks sweet. I guess in the movie, his spoiler somehow becomes his gatling gun/sheild thing.

Interesting - under the Autobots there is one that turns into a camera. He's called Spyshot 6, I wonder why they didn't just make him a new version of Reflector instead. I guess Hasbro/Takara wants to find a way to use the three seperate bots as one alt mode in the future...

Okay, thanks Skowl. I thought some of them looked like stock photos and not actual pics of the products, but I wasn't sure. That said, although it would be disappointing if the Hasbro versions of some of these toys weren't as good as the Takara versions, it would still be cool that better versions were available somewhere.
Ah well, we'll see.

Even better yet ... they're not calling them Cybertrons and Destrons. As much as I love the Japanese names, I have always felt that the lack of consistency between the factions, planets and some of the key characters was rather detrimental to the worldwide marketing of the Transformers. Hasbro came up with the idea of the "Transformers" storyline (i.e. Autobots, Decepticons, "Optimus Prime", Cybertron, etc) ... I've always felt their names should be used worldwide. I'll be curious to see if the Japanese get a dub or if it will be in English with Japanese subtitles.

I hope its dubbed for them, it just makes it easier for those who don't speak english, and not to mention it opens the door for them to say Optimus Prime in Japanese versus Convoy.. which could sound cool..My daughters mother is Japanese.. so it would be cool to see the dubb done professionally by the studio..and placed on the DVD so i can watch it in Japanese with My daughter so she can continue learning that language, and I can claim educational value for it.. HE he he :grin:
