Does anyone know what makes the Headmaster head lock into the body? I can't figure out why all of the heads work on the Scorponok body except for the Zarak head. I wonder if it's because of the speed notch on the Zarak head. It seems small compared to the others. I should pull out the other Decepticon Headmasters to see if Skullcruncher is slow.

Do you still have the body? If so, I bought a second head off eBay last week so maybe between my two heads and our two bodies we can make complete Scorponoks. I'll let you know when my 2nd Zarak arrives.
Ok, that will sound weird taken out of context.

I have this same problem and checking the pegs on Zarak never even occured to me. I'm gonna try it when I get home, but will check back to see if you all fix the problem in the meantime. This has been bugging me as well, because Scorp is my favorite G1 figure and I'd hate to have to try and replace him.

Yeah, I'd really just like to fix him. But I have a feeling it's going to be a problem with the body. If I hold his speed and intelligence in place with my finger, the head doesn't pop out. I tried taking the screws out of his back to open him up to see how the tech spec feature works on the toy but I could only get out one screw unfortunately. I'm keeping my eyes open for a spare body to experiment on.

Will that work on hinges too(Such as Cybertron Ransack's chest plate)?Bluebullet wrote:NightBreaker wrote:Is there any way to fix ball joints that have become loose?
Take the socket off of the ball and put silicone or super glue on the ball. After it dries, reattach the socket and it will be as good as new.

Ok, let's keep this topic on track my friends. I guess I'd like to know who has a Scorponok that doesn't have this problem? I just want to know if it's Zarak that doesn't work right or if it's the Scorponok body.

Electronics
OK then. I picked up a G1 Galvatron and Sky Lynx recently at a great price. Obviously, the electronis are not working.
Has anyone made an attempt at fixing this issue or know the primary reasons that the electonics get knocked off.
I am going to pop em open this weekend, but my first soddering iron and see what happens. However, would love some version of a guidline as to what I am going to see inside.
If this works, I can save a ton on a non working Omega Supreme by fixing him myself!

I'm now only Fast-Track's guns away from re-completing my original G1 Scorponok from when I was a kid.
I did technically finish my Fort Max today, though I'm waiting on the Masterswords from Singapore and I'm still looking for a sword for Cerebros. Those are just bonus pieces since the swords didn't come with the Hasbro release of Fort Max.
I just need to figure out how to fix the Zarak head-popping-out problem and I'll be all set to do a gallery of these guys finally.

Take him apart and tighten the tabs for the locking mechanism.

Sorry. Anyhow, I just tried inserting Monzo, Vorath and Grax into my Scorpanok body and Zarak into the other three Con Headmaster bodies, and there wasn't a problem at all. Scorp didn't reject any of the other three heads and none of the other bodies rejected Lord Zarak. So I don't know where that leaves us now.

Now, I just shoved Zarak back into Scorpanok and at least for the moment, he's sitting there just fine. Weird.

So true......the only thing that matters is that for the moment at least the problem is rectified. So, maybe that's the fix that was needed all along? A minute or two with a different head?

Any suggestions for loosening up 20 year old screws that don't want to move? I was able to get the back cover off, but I couldn't get 3 of the 4 screws undone that hold that front torso together with the back.

try using a very small amount of wd 40 or another can of spray lubruicant, that should do the trick.
i have to say though that i just checked my zarak and he fits into the body fine, not a problem at all.

Hey Dagon,
I have a separate thread asking about this here: http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1971
I'm having the same problem with my Scorponok.

My Scorponok is fine. The only headmaster I had trouble fitting onto the body was Apeface's head in Gorilla mode. It turned out to be a problem with a loose part on the body, not the head.
I'll have a look at mine over the weekend and see if I can figure what could be causing the trouble on those which don't attach properly.
