Can anyone recommend a method for doing this as an amateur? I'm not crafty, but I really REALLY want my Megatron to look like this. Is this sprayed? Brushed? What brand paint? Where to buy? What is the base (acryllic/enamel)?

you want a nice shiny megatron? it's kinda easy.

start by priming him with gloss fusion black. 1 or 2 light coats. Then sand those so that it is smooth as glass. Then spray a can of Alclad ($13.00 most hobby shops, aerosol can)
If you can't get alclad, just use Krylon silver, if you use Krylon, do 2 coats, 1st one light, then sand it will 400+ grit sandpaper (lightly, don't remove the paint, and asecond coat for finish coat (thickly sprayed about 8-10 inches from figure)
