Now that I have removed that tatoos from 1 of the 3 HFTD Voyager Starscreams that I now own...

Is it possible to dye it in any of these RIT products (Color Brightner, Color Remover, Whitener and Brightener, or White-Wash) in order to turn it from beige-white to pure white so that the color will seep in better?

My goal here it to give this one the same color scheme as 2007 Movie Voyager Thundercracker!

The other 2 will be give the same color schemes as ROTF Voyagers Ramjet & Skywarp!

I don't know, but I started googling this morning to try and find out. If I find something I'll share it, but so far peroxide and bleach come up the most, but I haven't found anything that definitively works. Since you have 3 of this figure maybe you should use one of them as a guinea pig.

I found a nice color chart for achieving different colors specifically with RIT dye on a hot wheels site, but I'm not sure how well the colors would work on a non-white figure.

You can't dye lighter. In order to make it lighter, you'd have to remove the color already in the plastic. Can't be done. All you can do is add additional color. I say try dying him in blue. He's a light enough color that it shouldn't hurt anything.

I never found anything that definitely worked, but there was a guy on TFW2005 that dyed a figure white. He said he used automotive grade vinyl/leather dye and that it worked. I seem to have deleted the PM he sent me so I have no details, but I know the auto grade white dye is getting harder to find. IIRC he just sprayed it, he didn't use the boil method.

I'd try it on a figure you don't care about first and be conscious of the different types of plastics used.

I'm familiar with vinyle dye. I bought some and it does work well. It just doesn't work like what you think of with "dye". It's more like a REALLY durable paint that bonds to the plastic better than anything. It kinda soaks in, but still adds thickness like paint. In fact, I consider it more of a paint than a dye which is why I never mentioned it.

I wonder if it was decanted and added to water like the traditional rit method if it would work better or if the water would just delude it.

I'm not sure if water would be the best thing to dilute it with. Like I said, it acts more like a paint than a dye. Not sure what chemicals are at work in it, but smell, texture, and viscosity all seem more like paint. Plus, I'm not sure how you'd get it out of the can.

I compared the ingredient list on the can to that in "Vinyle and Carpet Paint" available at most major parts stores and it seems to be very similar, if not identical. That stuff is easier to find and cheaper than Vinyle Dye, and doesn't seem to be different at all.
