Hi all! :D

I was in my local Tru in Aberdeen this morning and they were just taking boxes onto the shop floor. They had two boxes with the Soundwave reissue inside. I think there's about five or six to a box. Anyway I bought him immediately! He's priced at £24.99, is the double tape version and comes with Laserbeak and Ravage.

Tru also had Beatmix Bumblebee at £39.99 but Hmv have had him at the same price for a few weeks now.

John Lewis had a few Ironhide and Starscream Voyagers in stock but I couldn't see a price.

Wheelies Executioner, I bought Bonecrusher and Swindle from Argos about a week or so ago and they were on display in the middle of the store. Both are quite good but I'd really like to see a leader class Bonecrusher. I haven't seen the movie yet but from the clips I've seen he looks about as big as Prime which makes toy Bonecrusher kinda small next to toy Prime!

I also bought the Optimus Prime/ Bumblebee two pack from Argos but strangely you don't get the free lenticular poster with this two!

Okay. The board wouldn't let me post yesterday, so I've got two posts for that day to post before I post for today.

1.

Arr, ye manage to get a replacement fine?

I may have to be doin some recon on the Argos website today methinks :-?

Arr, the sigs' a beauty. It be causin me nor me computer any calamities, so all be fine this end. Two thumbs up!

EDIT:- Awww, no stock near me at all :(

Alas, I had nigh enough dubloons anyway, but it'd woulda been nice to know they were in fact being shipped in large enough quantities to meet demand.

2.

So we've actually seen movie deluxes?
I haven't seem them anywhere but on the tip of Cornwall :P

After recatalouging my transformers into a database again. I've found that I need £410 basic to buy things I've missed but still want. Mainly Hasbro's fault for not releasing the majority of the Alternators and Titaniums over here :-x

Did we ever get the WWI Prime and Megs two pack?

Anyone wanna give me about half a grand for free?

They look awesome. I say all of us here in the ODB go request our own lil mes'. And you MUST have a piratey item drawn onto your tf lil me. Or else :P

Assuming this is for me?

Yes the replacement went fine, i just said it was faulty and i coudnt TF it and they changed it right away, the only thing i was worried about was if they didnt have anymore instock...but the website does let you check store near you and not so near as well, they give you the 2 closest to start, then a choice of about 8 so there is plenty of scope for scouting out your entire region...

Glad you like the sig, amazing what you can do with a trial of Paintshop Pro's animation software, plus I just discovered the 'magnetic lasso' tool in Photoshop...my scope for interesting sigs has just increased tenfold ;;)

hmmm

They must have more in stock then I originally believed.
Another good sign.

Yep, I've found the Argos website useful for tracking things down. Plus I don't mind having to get a viewing to make sure I get what I want. The lasses nowadays are a lot younger than they used to be, and a lot more friendly ;;)

Magnetic lasso you say?

OK Just retorned from TRU and they had again a sale on TFs (kinda scary as if they don't want them anymore)
So I boght BoneCrusher, Proto Screamer, and got Cybertron Defence Hotshot for free, cool figs, but BC isn't to grate, he way to small!

Then I went to a nother shop and grabbed Barricade!
Damn I like them deluxes.
Now I can't wayt to spend the rest of my money on Soundwave and Prime and Bumbles in the UK!

when i went in to get my 2 pack the first time (i went to the customer service desk with my reservation number) i was told that they arent doing viewings now...not sure if this is just my local store or not

The Master Blaster wrote:Magnetic lasso you say?

yeah, it lets you cut a complicated image when you just want one part of the image, i.e. the software can automatically attach to the outline of whatever part of an image you are trying to cut out...a bit like this hastily done example:

hmmm, that's quite a clever watchyamacallit.

Well, if they've decided to stop doing viewings, they can start reprinting catalogues to show all stocked transformers correctly, not just each size class.

Screw em, if I want a viewing they can bloody give me a viewing!

Dead Metal wrote:OK Just retorned from TRU and they had again a sale on TFs (kinda scary as if they don't want them anymore)

Another sale you say?

Spiffing!

I shall use it to get Soundwave cheap!

What kinda sale is it?

Is Cybertron Metroplex in it?

As I see it, they've bought a lil more stock than they intended to, and so need to sell it all quickly so they can put the newer stuff out.

They get discounts for buying in bulk anyway don't they?
So typically they're not really losing much by having them on sale.

It's a pay two get tree figures, so you grab tree and pay just for two!
But I don't know if it's in the UK, but if it is I'll be buying quite a bit! tomorow!

All businesses get a discount when buying in bulk, regardless of what it is. At least legit things are done like that.

Today, I got me Barricade. I love the guy. He could do with more posability, but I still think he's great. I don't know why people keep ragging on the movie line, Blackout and Barricade I love. Yeah, so he could do with fingers you can see from the outside, but at least they are there. Quick q: Does his head move? I don't want to force it for fear of snapping his neck. His name is Barricade, not Bonecrusher.

I also picked up the Titan hardback TPB called Beginings. Some bedtime reading of the marvel comic tf arrival on Earth. YEY!!

No, Encore Soundwave will be the end. I don't like the 2 door of the Toys r us version. it looks clumpy. Smooth surface all the way.

I dont need the BB/OP 2 pack. I dont have the money. I dont have the space. Barricade can pick on classics BB.

I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB. I dont need the 08 BB.

This aint gonna work. As soon as I see 08 BB, I'm gonna get it.

Thanks. I wont tug it.

I forgot to mention earlier, those looking for Starscream and Ironhide check in FP. They had a couple of each in today, along with a fair few of every wave 1 deluxe. Except 78 BB. Sorry Redimus.

Wreckage doesn't look as good in person in alt mode if you ask me.

No Soundwaves at TRU York tonight. I'll try to get up to Teeside over the weekend. What the hell do TRU think they're playing at though? Loads of overstock on previous lines and the only things discounted are Primus (passing as I want the Unicron head) and Movie deluxes, this seasons hottest sellers. Surely they should be dropping prices on Cybertron and Classics at this stage? I'm predicting a clearance once the movie's no longer in cinemas and if we see such a thing I'll be stocking up on a few bits that I've missed and duplicate Classics for kitbash fodder (many, many Seekers).

And you DO need 08 BB. You DO.

Nice cross section of Primes, but no God Ginrai? That guy's a must! The TRU reissue PM Prime even comes with the clear window cab and the God Bomber parts. Arr be fine booty that good crewman Chugster.

I see that you've still got the small smokestacks on 20th. I've just done the upgrade and it's already a huge improvement on the figure, just need to get around to removing the weathering and rechroming the grill now. It's a cheap enough part to get (£3 shipped for mine) and a simple enough procedure to swap the parts, although you will need a couple of sizes of precision screwdrivers. Certainly one to bear in mind.
