Yep, you read that right, a Leader Class match using NO War Cry, Fusion Cannon, or Magma Frag.

I find that fighting and getting kills without the buffs make it feel more rewarding and balanced. Leaders can still deal plenty of damage without War Cry and the like. See for yourself, I'm using the Leader with Ion Blaster, Energon Battle Pistol, Disrupt, and Barrier, and do quite a lot with just those.

Almost every Leader I see anymore relies on War Cry and bunny-hopping with Fusion Cannon, Magma Frag, or both of those weapons at the same time. With this loadout, it takes more reliance on skill and tactics, which I favor over easy win weapons. By using said tactics, I kill a Leader player who's using Magma Frag and War Cry several times in this match by playing to win or survive, even outsmarting him with Disrupt when he tries using P.O.K.E.

This isn't to show off, but just to demonstrate that Leaders are capable of being really good without the buff-up abilities and ridiculously strong weapons.

I never use war cry. In fact, I never use any of the special powers. I just aim and shoot. Unless I'm cornered by a bunch of people and I have the shockwave ability.

Can you explain how you did a shockblast 1:21 and again at 5:45? Im assuming those were glitches but what were you trying to do?

Yeah. I didn't use shockwave, I was using Disrupt. It's a projectile that you sling at enemies to mess up their transformation. It gives off a discharge when used that looks just like the shockwave. The first time I used it, you'll see that I turned the Scientist into his jet form, and I have the Corrode perk, which causes the victim's health to be drained, which is what killed him.

You guys disgust me. Equipping a Leader with those cheap abilities... yuk.

If you're tired of Frag Spammers, change class. I changed my main into a Jet, and only used my Leader for those times i wanted to be sure to win.

And Leaders aren't invincible. Sure, some people make good advantge of them, but using the right tools and tactics (close-up EMP Shotgun XD), they're just as easily disposed as any other class.

As a Scout or Scientist, I generally run from Leaders when they pop Warcry and shadow them until it either wears off or a better target comes along.

As a Soldier, I hit Whirlwind and beat them to death.

You never know though. Sometimes those Leaders use their Warcry and they only have one bar of life left. All you need is one good shot or wack and their dead. Ive done that a few times.

Ive noticed with Soldier sometimes I'll use my entire Whirlwind ability on them (every single hit) and they still DONT DIE. BUT.... if I immediately give them just one more single melee,.. they die. Thats happened a lot too.

Generally if i'm up against a Leader, it's one of those scrubs who hits Warcry right away and starts blasting away with a Fusion Cannon / Magma Frag. I find it's easier just to run and kill them later. I respect anyone who can actually use a Leader without just facerolling it.

So... anybody want to play once PSN comes up again? (If you hav a PS3, that is) Maybe some of you guys would like to set up a lobby where one of us used Leaders (or DID?)
