Do The Nuts And Bolts Go Out After A While?

Postby Bumbled » Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:45 am

What I mean is, the toys, do they go loose in their joints or screws after a while?

If you transform them a ton, absolutely yes.

If not, no, the opposite. I've opened a few MISB items from the 80s and the joints were stiff as hell.

Not if you don't play with them a lot. Plastic toys generally are quite durable, although obviously this movie line's toys are more vulnerable thanks to the automorph and their complex transformations.

If you only move them just to get them into certain poses, it should be no problem.

No offence, but that's a bit of a silly question. EVERYTHING degrades with use.
But yes, joints get looser, as plastic is warn away by friction, there is therefore less plastic in contact and less grip, hence loose joint.

With modern tfs, unless you are transforming them CONSTANTLY, and giving them quite a rought time, they should be ok for a good long while.

Ball and socket these days they are more likely to be loose from the start. The old days of more sturdy construction they would go loose over time.
