Nemisis Convoy Vs Big Convoy

Postby publicvisage » Tue Oct 16, 2007 5:47 pm

So, I'm in a little bit of a conundrum. I've recently come across both Big Convoy from Beast Wars Neo and Nemisis Convoy from Universe. I really only want to get one of them, but I can't find any thing that compares the two.

Hopefully, you guys can help me decide.

What I would like to know is:

Are there any significant mold changes? I know Big Convoy comes with a Matrix, does Nemisis as well?

How has the mold held up? Does one have looser joints than the other.

Any other miscellaneous info you want to add would be helpful and greatly appreciated. So would comparison pics.

Thanks in advance! :D

as far as i know Nemesis is just a repaint of Big Convoy, not changes at all except for the colors.

I have both, I prefer the Japanese version of Big Covoy though. The joints were tighter in my experience, of course I have heard the complaint that the Korean big Convoy also suffers from loose joints due to mold degradation.

Correct.

Its all about colours and characters with these toys, as that is all that sets them apart.

I only have Nemesis Prime, but I loves him so much I have not even bothered trying to track down the Big Convoy.

Either way, you'll get a great figure.

Thanks guys!

Boy, if there ever was a reason to hate repaints, it's because you eventually have to choose between them.

LOL, quite true, esp. with the hullaballoo about the recent "metallic" TFTM repaints. as for me though, i make it a rule of thumb to go for the version which is "official", i.e. appeared in a cartoon/movie/comic book. this helps tone down the frustration of deciding between repaints.

Links for you, right from Seibertron's very own galleries!

Nemesis Prime

Big Convoy

General rule of thumb about transformers i've learned is that if you can't find a gallery on this site, it probably does not exist anywhere.

My Korean version holds just about any pose you can imagine, even with his trunk/weapon attached to his back. And I can see no appreciable difference between mine and Seib's gallery (presuming he photoed the Japanese version).

Thanks.

I did actually look through these, but sometimes the angles and focus aren't conductive to give me a really good comparison.

Anyway, I think I'm going to go with Nemesis(yay, spelled correctly!) Prime, just because I already have blue and red Prime/Convoys out the wazoo.

Entirely untrue. Just from a common sense stand point it wouldn't happen as that would be only the second production run of the toy.

The SongKong version is very nice, has no problems, and from what I remember none of them have the miscolored arm issue that the Takara releases (some of them, not all) have.

Owning both Nemesis Prime and Big Convoy, I recommend you get Nemesis Prime. Big Convoy will be easy to find for at least a few more years. Nemesis Prime was a limited run exclusive from a dead line. He'll be harder to come across as time goes on.
