After being BURNED by MP-11, and seeing how fragile, fiddly, and expensive modern G1 MPs have become, I'm really not sure about that one.

I missed out on the Maketoys version, who was perfection with the wings filler. If the new MP seeker mold can surpass it for a similar price, I'll be very happy. But I doubt it will ever happen.

I'm not excited about this but I'll probably still get it, then I can have 1 of each mold represented on my shelf. If it doesn't look ridiculous next to the other two due to the cartoon styling. Like everyone else I'd much rather see a character they haven't done yet. Now I'm dreading an inevitable Soundwave 2.0 and seriously thinking about how far I want to follow this line...

Edit: Come to think of it, how do we know it's not just some special repaint of the Earthrise mold or the rumoured G1 Studio Series? Obviously you can't see the stabilizers in robot mode but it's not impossible to pose ER Starscream in such a way that would minimize them in a silhouette like this. There are differences in the null-rays, certainly, but it's hard to say for sure.

Ran through Google translate, Apparently the text on the photo they posted translates to "Beyond 15 years Masterpiece series Starscream revival".

I didn't mind the mp seeker v2, but I shed a tear at the thought of all the mp collectors still 'round that are gonna have to get all 20 future variants of this figure at about $300+ each :HEADHURTS:

Don't pity me/us, because I work very hard and budget things in such a way that I can afford them, and I greatly value every Transformer in my collection.

The one's I feel bad for are those who want them, but can't afford them

Speaking of completitionist, there was that user who had in mind to get EVERY single releases of ALL Masterpiece figures. Meaning not only the repaints and ultra limited variants, but even various international editions of the same thing whenever there was a just a slight change on the box even.
But then I guess that user gave up on the idea when the MP releases were basically monthly and the prices began to skyrocket.

There was a time where multiple regions got their MP releases one after the other. All with slight variants to the boxes, or region exclusives like for China or the USA. Now it seem it's pretty much just Japan.

Still, every single one of them cost a premium.
That is, if you don't preorder from Amazon.JP.

Completionism sounds OCD, personally I collect them as small works of art that are extremely cool. I have every MP, with the exception of the BAPE versions, because they didn't interest me much. I even purchased the BW II figures, even though I wasn't a fan of the show, because the figures are excellent! :-D

Because of space and budget limitations (and I collect way too much various things) I only buy the MPs that truly interest me. Even though I have MP-01 and MP-10, I just couldn't bring myself to pay they price of MP-44 so I skipped.

I have a strong attraction to Starscream and I ADORED the MP-03 mold despite it's glaring flaws. I bought the "Walmart G1" at the time but I stupidly sold it to buy MP-11. The MP-11 that I grossly overpaid for a quality inferior to a cheap K.O.

I still have the MP-03 Ghost whom I put in a special LED display to make him shine. Just some years back, I bought the original MP-03 "Greenscream" because it's charged with history and he look pretty much bad-ass in that army camo color.

So I'm sincerely hoping that new Starscream will not be like MP-44. Over-engineered and one zillion accessories for a 400$+ pricetag.

I call 400$US like BW Megatron. Including the cape (an improved version of the excelent MP-11 accessory) the crown, and a mini Megs in gun mode. Then, add at least 4 or 5 accessories that appeared in the cartoon for just a few seconds. Oh, and at least 3 extra faces and maybe some optional swappable "damaged" panels like with MP-36 for when Megs beat the sh!t out of Screamers.

I feel you on the space issue.. they take up room fast, especially when in their boxes.

I agree with you about MP-44, definitely overpriced.. I think the $290-300 range would have been much more reasonable. As far as the figure itself, I am very pleased. He is great in both robot and alt modes.

That's cool that you light up your Ghost version, it must look fantastic.

Wow... Not that I would be shocked, but that seems like a ton no matter which accessories they pack in there with him...
I'm really hoping it's not over $300. 4 would make me think it won't sell enough, especially since despite upgrades/improvements, this isn't the first round of MP treatment for this figure.
Not to mention, they'll be using this mold a few more times down the road.
IF it ends up being $400, I will need to be extremely happy with the bot mode appearance.
MP Megatron is the most expensive figure I've ever bought.

Oh hell yeah! That lighting display was expensive as fok to make, but well worth it. Ghost Screamer is in perma jet mode because it's scary to transform and it look the best this way.

Hey, I have an idea, let's do variants and repaints of OP and the Seekers!! :BANG_HEAD:

If they feel like they MUST do G1, which I am not opposed to them moving on, how about the Mini Bots? Insecticons? Perceptor? Jet Fire?

Although, as a collector, while I do have more than a handful of MP's, I cannot justify spending that much money when a lot of the newer stuff are just as cool at a fraction of the price...

MP's just bore me and kinda lost me at $400 OP.

Your right, it isn't me either. I wanted to get at least one mold of each MP release but that's not gonna happen. Same with MPM. I will continue buying BW MPs though, they will be the only MPs I buy.

There hasn't been a Seeker released since 2017, Thrust, the last time Hasbro or Takara Tomy had a new release of one of the main 3 seekers was 2015 for Hasbro (TRU Starscream) and 2016 for Takara Tomy (TTMall Skywarp). Most importantly, the only Seeker to be sold at normal retail in Japan since 2010 is MP-11 Starscream which got it's most recent release in 2017. A 100% new mold 8 years after the previous mold launched and hasn't been used for 3 years which itself is heavily modified from a mold released 12 years ago doesn't feel like overkill to me, especially since it isn't a retread of something we've had before. I didn't like the previous two molds, this one has all the potential to be everything I've always wanted from a Starscream figure. Don't like it? You've got 12 years of options to choose from.

And stop saying this is taking a slot from a more deserving character. :roll:

There isn't a finite number of slots and the line shows no signs of ending. You've waited this long for the next character to be announced, at worst you'll have to wait another half a year for another to be announced.

True, plus we have Rattrap confirmed but no images yet, Hoist and Trailbreaker were supposedly in the works years back. Add a sprinkle of BW Neo or whatever odditys and general niceness appears in the line. Plus we might get a better bumblebee five years down the line.

The only thing that puts me off MPs (other than the price and fragility) is when they change scale as they did with MP01/MP10 and I've not really looked into the size of humans with hound/bee/mp44 prime compared to each other and the Magnus/MP10 to know if it has been changed that much. So with the seekers, it will depend what size humans fit in the cockpit which is probably going ot be limited by the size of bot mode anyways.
