No, he's not the same in G1. This movie is a whole new appoach to G1, and new story.

If the movie isn't G1, then it stands to reason that Frenzy, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream etc are not the same as their G1 characters.

Nononono, this was not G1 Frenzy. This was a psychotic muppet that shot bladed disks and sounded like it was loaded with a robot equivalent of caffiene. That said, he still managed to draw some laughs. Just consider him a new character with an old name.

Yep, no Transformers are from G1, this is a new universe, as the Energon. You can't compare that Optimus to this or the G1 equivallent, or that Ironhide to movie Ironhide to G1... Just same names.

Truth be told, with all intellectual honesty in play, he was TOO awesome.
Not having anything to do with Transformers movie, but on his own, his own movie?
THAT might've been something pretty fun to see.

Before the movie, I thought he sucked. After seeing it, he officially rocks. He's the crazy little comic relief ninja hacker! What's not to love?

i also thought he looked horrible, but after seeing the movie i loved him, he had so much personality. he was so hypo and funny! :-P

By God, that would be so awesome.

Hell, make the new animated show all about him, "Transformers: Starring Frenzy."

Like, every episode, Frenzy goes on some mission, but effs it up at every turn. Meanwhile, one of the Autobots goes on his own adventure. By the time Frenzy gets it right, the Autobot unknowingly stops him.

And Frenzy ends up like Waspinator.

God, I would watch that show, then I'd DVR it, and watch it over and over.
