Would you miss the arena?

So take this thread however you like, it may be part of something for V2, or it may be for my simple curiosity, up to you.
For as long as I can remember this game has suppose to have been about missions.
And for as long as I can remember there's been people bitching about the "arena dwellers".
"Oh i'm outnumbered, wah wah wah, that wouldn't happen if there wasn't x number of xfaction sitting in line in the arena!"
How many times has that been said? Yeah, a lot.
So if the arena were removed and replaced with something like, oh, a challenge arena (spare us your ideas about how a challenge arena would work, this is about a simple question), where it was simply a thing to blow energon on and the only thing you got from it was bragging rights, and if you wanted xp and energon you had to go to missions. Would you miss the current arena as it is now?

I wouldn't miss the arena. I only use it if the game is so inactive when I go to bed that my troops are unlikely to get a fight even if they wait for an hour.
So, like once every couple of weeks.
I thought it was useful for the lower levels, but my wife started a team a few months ago and she swears by missions, even at level 0-1.

Nope.
but having two different staging grounds where stats are good in one, but not so good in another allows for more variety of play.

sounds good to me, maybe some CON V's CON/BOT V's BOT action as well,it could even go as far as CO-OP TAG TEAMS.
this being said, how about a NEW area for TURNIES
call it the Campaign: area or something .
it could be used for SIBE's hosted events, to keep them apart from Missions in it's own area, and much/much more, could be done.
Just my .02€

I'd miss it. It's good for regaining energon after a bad batch of missions, and for when there's more 1-3 or 2-4 missions than I really feel like having my bots slaughtered in.

I use it for when I want easy xp for my Rammers and I see Dutchbot waiting.
As long as its put to a good use, I wouldnt miss it.

A little bit.
I only used it for quick energon gains really. I still throw a bot in now and then but that's generally because it only takes 30 mins if there's opponents waiting and I can usually get a few bots in battles just before Fight Club starts, which I wouldn't normally get from missions.

With the "r" upon us, let's not forget it's good for lvl 0's b/c it's free for repair, which some might need.
Otherwise, Arena...I fare thee well...& don't let the door hit u on ur way out.

All my cons are level 0 and i wouldn't miss the arena at all. I havent used it in months and arent likely to begin using it again any time soon.... Missions just offer more chances for xp gain (or so it seems). Also they are the closest this game has to "plot". It helps elevate it from the status of simply clicking a box and watching a countdown timer.
As it is the arena has no real plot value. It isn't explained (as in how or why would a single bot and a single con fight it out under specific circumstances) and it doesnt add much to the experience. I like the sound of an arena developed for bragging rights. In fact i love that idea. It makes so much more sense from a gameplay point of view, offering another goal to shoot for. Another plus is that the benefits will be something less tangible than xp or energon, removing them from the game economy. For example, you could say "Yeah you may have more xp than me, but i still owned your ass in the arena and ive got the URL to prove it!"
Sounds fun, even though it's a statement i may rarely make....

My team is completely level 1 and I'd have to say yes, I would miss the arena. At my level can gain far more XP and energon running through the arena than I can with missions which 'cons are notorious for failing to fill. I can jump in a 6on6 0-1 level mission with 34 minutes before launch and being the only con at the end of the mission isn't really that rare.
On the flip side I do understand elimination of the arena would force many 'cons into missions to help compensate but it doesn't change the fact that the arena is much quicker way to level at lower levels.

I wouldn't miss it, but I think it'd be a good idea if this variation of the Arena is scrapped that we keep a version of it for levels 0-1. Call it the "Training Simulator" or something.

I dunno. I like the arena from time to time. Usually when the missions are piss, empty, or I'm outnumbered 6 to 1 no matter what I do.

Yes, I'd miss it. That's a different battlefield, with one-on-one battles.
