Yep, it picks up right after #155.

I wonder how hard he's going to try to keep it "in times" no cell phones, no internet, etc.

IDW offered GI Joe #155.5 as a giveaway on Free Comic Book Day and it read fine though I haven't picked up the rest of the series yet. I think that they took the standard superhero sliding timeline.
I'm not sure how they handled the Vietnam stuff.

If I remember correctly, there was an interview section in the FCBD issue that addressed the "world without mobile phones and internet" question. I think. I might be wrong.

Re: GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
Anyone check out GI Joe: Cobra Civil War #0? It's just like the first GI Joe #0, three prologues to three series. I'm already on board for Costa & Fuso's Cobra.
The real surprise was Snake-Eyes, which features the Ninja Force characters! Or at least what's left of them. As silly as those 90's neon colors are, I do love the Ninja Force characters especially in the Marvel issues. This could be a quite a cool series!
I recently read the rest of David Lapham's GI Joe Origins run and realized that Krake was in it.

Hey guys do me a favor, I along with 2 other like minded individuals have created a GI Joe podcast called "What's on Joe Mind?" and can be found http://whatsonjoemind.podbean.com/ here. Please give it a listen and let me know what you think. I really am looking forward to your opinions.

So I'm at a local Zellers today. (Think Target but suckier)
Completely on a whim (there was nothing marked about any deals) I scaned one of the Target ROC SNAKE Armors. When they got them at first they wanted $29.99 for them. While it now had a clearance tag of $22.97 sticker on it, to my surprise it scanned as $9.95.
I quickly went and grabbed a Dusty (only fig there I didn't already have 1 or more of), scaned it and he was $2 off as well.
So I figure I would push my luck and grabbed a ROC RHINO (Originally marked at $79.99, they were marked down in October to $49.99) Sure enough scanned for $19.99.
So I grabbed all 3 pieces. ;D
I'm glad I waited on that RHINO

I wish I knew before I got that one that it wasn't retooled for the 25th style figures.

I said might, not would. It would make a hell of a Beard Force vehicle, no?

I actually got a RHINO from a comic shop for $10 without the driver, and I rather like this vehicle as an armored MASK vehicle.

I was thinking as it is called RHINO, to stick Trakker in it, and one I get the series 5 CC to convert into Miles Mayhem, have him in the chopper.
One I saw how the blades line up for insertion is pretty much the same way the Switchblade was set up for swapping between chopper and jet mode, that has pretty much cemented that idea.

I hear ya on that one. If I get a second one, I'm gonna try to expand the chopper's wings for a more accurate Switchblade.
On that note-really, Kenner? The leader of VENOM gets a jet that can transform into a helicopter, while Trakker gets a car that turns into a jet? I like Switchblade, but it really seemed lazy, even back when I was little.

I have the ThunderBird, loved it as a kid, and was happily surprised when I refound it a couple months back. Clearly the newer Matt figure can't work with it and I lost the original Matt years ago but really glad it was in a box with a bunch of original Jurassic Park toys.
My friend had the switchblade and it was a cool toy, but I'm glad that I had the ones I did. (T-Bird, Condor, Vampire, and T-bob.)
Seeing Cobrastickers has done a jackhammer sticker set for the Cobra Hummer, I wish they had a rhino/switchblade set for the RHINO. (Hell, if I had known they were going to make that jackhammer set I would have picked up a second hummer just for that.)

Re: GI Joe Fans Unite-- 25th Anniversary Fig Talk and More!
I'm pretty excited about the new Joe line, though my wallet isn't. I'm a bit disappointed to read something I've feared from looking at the pictures of these figures some months ago: that the hips are extremely limited. Guess I'll be joining the ranks of altering my figures with an X-Acto or Dremel so they can actually sit down. I will never understand the malfunction of toy companies that give figures the "V-crotch" when a T-crotch works so much better.

They tried doing a T crotch 10 years ago and the fans revolted. In fact there are some people here who might be grabbing pitch forks at the mention of the T crotch. Don't worry, I got your back.

I think Sunday means "t-crotch" as in "compare a POC's waist piece to a series 1 25th's, which has the ball-jointed hips attach to the sides of a V instead of the sides of a T, effectively rendering every leg a gimp leg and preventing them from sitting down" instead of "t-crotch" as in "outdated swivel leg joints from the '70s which has no reason to exist anymore other than companies trolling customers."

As I've slipped and missed a couple episodes of Renegades I "grabbed" the last 6 episodes to get caught up.
Say what you will about Renegades (or Prime or TFAnimated) I've enjoyed seeing how they "reissued" characters in a player of the week format, mostly showing Joes in different situations but still the RAH characters we know, and in most cases closer to RAH than the current IDW comics, but I digress.
I started with Shipwrecked, and while Delgado was different and needed Polly, the reference of his naming his ship after Cover Girl was a nice toss to their relationship in the Devil's Due books.
As much as I thought that was good, I can't say the same for the treatment of Red Star, who looked more like Horrorshow than Krimov.
But my geek-out moment came in the next episode. Dr. Monev! they brought in Dr. freakin Venom! I was so amazed that during his first few scenes I didn't even place that they got Michael Emerson to voice him.
I don't love Renegades, I don't hate it either, but casting "Ben Linus" for one of my favourite under-utilized characters in the franchise.... That (IMO) is just fraking awesome.
