United Kingdom Transformers sightings

If you ask me, it's worth getting:
Roddy
BB
SW/UM
CF
Grim
Mirage
Op/Megs (if there's nothing else)
Op
Megs
JF
RJ
blahblahblah
So, in essence, if it's Deluxe or Voyager, it's worth your money!
What's wrong with Roddy and Astrotrain to take em off the good stuff list?

No plastic crack... grrrr. So instead I just wasted money on shinny plastic crack (Blackadder goes Forth and the first 4 Red Dwarf serieses).
*Should* have my interview on Monday instead...

I damn well better get this job.

Hi everyone!
This month has been expensive for me so far!
I was in Woolworths (Aberdeen city centre) yesterday and they have movie figs in stock!
I picked up Ratchet and Blackout (Voyagers) and on hearing the transformation sound I couldn't resist the Optimus Prime voice changer helmet!
They also had Cyberstompin OP and Bumblebee figures which were bigger, looked smarter and sounded cooler than I thought they would be.
They also had Fast Action Battlers, OP, Starscream, Ironhide and Jazz.
And also the OP Battle Rig Blaster.
And finally Optimash Prime!
As for Argos I was in there on Friday and bought Titanium Megatron for £7.48. Strangely the movie figures were listed as being unavailable until 2nd June after I've already bought two of them! On checking their website they are only listing the Cyberstompin and Optimash as being available.
I was in Forbidden Planet today and they were surprised that Woolworths and Argos were getting to sell their one's early. Apparently FP have been given strict instructions not to sell any TF movie related products until 2nd June. Though FP are expensive as the Protoforms are going to be £16.99 each and 6" Titaniums (they had Ultra Magnus and Megatron in stock) are £22.99!
Interestingly is Jazz going to be avaliable in both Deluxe and Voyager sizes as the Argos catalogue seems to show him in both sizes?
Ron.

Good luck on Mon Red+1.
Screw it, I need some plastic crack to cheer me up. If Blackout has been spotted for sale in Woolies, I'm gonna go have a look on fri. May even pop into Argos, see if I can find me a cheap tit Magnus, cos I aint shelling out £22.99 FP is asking for.
You can't trust the images in teh Argos catalogue. I remember when Optimal Optimus came out. They had a picture of him under a number and tag of £19.99. Turns out, that was Rampage/Depth Charge size. OPOP was more.

I'm not a Hotrod fan so that's more than likely clouding my judgement with Hotrod, Astrotain - hm, the jury's still out.

I actually prefer astrotrain to the decep jets - the chunky look suits him.
I agree about Hotrod, now - if they released a repaint/mold of him as sideswipe like the kitbashers have made I'd snap it up.

I think they shoulda made Astrotrain as a Voyager class or bigger. He is supposed to be huge afterall.
I love Astrotrain. As soon as he hits the UK shelves, he's mine. Maybe it's just because he was the first Cl mould we saw? And now people have grown tired of him?
Anyway, according to my sources, we should see the final lot of the Classics line mid June. So prepare you're wallets for about £50 worth of plastic crack!
Screw plastic crack this month though. I have eyes for metal crack instead"

Just been into my Argos [Newport, South Wales] and they have the deluxe figures listed on their system as for sale, but the Voyager and Leader class are still unavailable... I might go get a viewing to see what the 3 are. Hope fully Jazz or Barricade!

Personally, I love CL Astrotrain. Quick and fun to transform into all three modes. Just don't repaint him into toon colours because he will screw up due to either weak plastic or unfortunate luck (his left leg aquired a crack along one side, making his knee weak, his wings got stuck into place, fortunatly they were open so he can still have shuttle/robot mode properly, he's just a train with wings now, and his right toes got stuck in robot position for some wierd reason so that was forced to get attacthed to the lower part of the shuttle. Yes, he stands wonkey).
The only tf I'm willing to get another one of because I love it so much. Just throwing in my two pence.
Being the first and only triple changer I have (not including transmetals) has not influenced my opinion in any way.

So it's a case of bad quality plastic that's ruined this figure for so many?

If I hadn't painted it, the plastic would have probably have been as good as Cl BB. Yet CL SS plastic remained fully intact with no problems when he was repainted into Skywarp, so I guess Astrotrain does have some inferior plastic.
I don't think it's the main reason for so much dislike for this figure, but I'm sure it's a factor (unless I just had a bad one).

He also has the poorest articulation of the deluxes, the train cab is totally in the way on his robot mode, and his train mode is aweful.
If he was a voyager, and had a bit of redesigning, he'd probably be a lot better.
They really should have done Blitzwing though. The guy's G1 transformation was pretty damn good, and I could see it easily being updated using todays technology.

I agree that the train cab gets in the way in robot mode. And the rear end of the train could be redisigned a little better, but it still looks good. As for articulation though, he has the same amount as BB or SS.
I'm also disgrunteled in that no sign of any movie figs in Woolies. Just cyber stompers, fabs, helmet voice thingy and a large movie Prime statue type thingy. It wasn't Blackout so I didnt pay it the blindest bit of notice.

Second page again?
And I'm currently disgruntled on account of the release of movie toys in the UK, and my job not starting until August.

I'm actually pleasantly contented at the minute! I now have all of the movie figures either in my collection or on their way thanks to various internet sources (ebay, midcotoys, toyzandgamez and the entertainer!).
Plus I'm going out to buy a new car this week as well!
So pretty happy now!

I'm disgruntled. I can't find any movie deluxes, no leaders, and only Ratchet and Blackout voyagers.

So even dear Blackout is poorly designed? I may save more money on this toy line than I expected, and I only planned to buy 5 in the first place!
Second page? I think not!!!
Pull it together guys, this thread should never make it to the second page!

Blackout is poorly desinged? D'oh. That is the one thing, the ONLY thing I'm after in the movie line (though I may pick up Barracade if I see him and I have the money).
I'll have another scout around in some free time this week, see what I can see since they are 'officially' on sale now.
KEEP THIS THREAD ON THE FIRST PAGE! WE ODB's WILL NOT BECOME AN ENDANGERED SPECIES!!!

Turn on POP right now.
Transformers G1 is on!!!
EDIT: Hold on guys. There's either been a programming mixup, or tfs were put on early.
Cos Dennis the Menace just came on instead.
This sucks...
Yeah, Blackout was one of the only toys I was looking forward to. I may still get him, and try and fix the problem...
EDITEDIT: Again, I say someone should sticky this thread to the top of the first page. It is a thread that will remain constant after all.
