Ive noticed that almost all, if not all decepticons take on government alternate modes. Are the makers of tf trying to say they think the government is evil? Taking our trust with their forms and hiding their true evilness thats underneath till its too late? Just an observation I was thinking about today..

Well it does give the Decepticons the upper-hand seeing as if Barricade wasn't a police vehicle, it would be quite odd if he was constantly beating the crap out of a '74 Camaro.

The Decepticon's would turn into the weapons, fighter jets, Tanks, Combat vehicles, where as the Autobots would turn into automobiles, civilian vehicles, passenger planes, and sometimes would have something like a Police car or a Military Jeep.

The movie alternates would be a good reflection on that.

if you were trying to take over the world what would you be a Camero or a M1A1 Abrams Main battle Tank with a mine sweeper on the front.

Even before the movie, the 'cons were military type vehicles. In the TF novel Legends it has a few stories back on Cybertron where Megatron was gathering a small force to create the Decepticons and any of em that were not a high fire power type of alt mode (military type) were changed into one. G1 and G2 mostly followed this, and the movie aswell. If anyone has more information to add or to correct me, go ahead. <3u

Come on, put yourself in Megatron's shoes. You're out to enslave the universe. Who do you want backing you up? The bot that can wash really high windows in his alt mode or the guy that turns into a big honkin' tank?

They are Decepticons, they are programmed for "deception". What better way to deceive, than by being Vehicles you would normally trust to protect you. I thinks its a brilliant disguise.
