I guess it's now official...Ultimate Bumblebee... hands down toy of the year!! IMO I know they are not saying it's the toy of the year but one has to conclude that it is by sheer demand.

Wii surrendered its top spot to the Transformers Bumblebee toy, she said. "This was quite a surprise because Wii was in the top slot for most of November," Waslander added.

sheer demand? Ultimate BB ... the shelf warmer? I have a hard time believing that one. To me it looks as if they can't get rid of it ... packing it with deluxe figs @ the same price?

The only demand I see for that figure is shelf space ... especially with the newer/larger packaging.

Looks like that article is basing the demand on "yahoo" searches. I'm sure a good percentage of those people who searched for it ... ran away once they saw the ridiculous price. That would be the smarter people.

Anyone else would think "wow, at that price ... it must be awesome, $$$ ka-ching." Once they get it and see how crappy it is for that kind of money ... I'm sure many go back to the store demanding a refund.

The only point I see in buying it, is for completionism. I have one in the box. I had a loose one, but traded it off rather quickly.

Then again, we have people who actually like the fig ... which boggles my mind. That's cool though, I'm glad that it brings a smile to somebodies face.

The article says people searched for 'bumblebee' - so it's more likely to be the concept camero deluxe, you don't expect people writing these articles to know the difference do you??

it would seem this was in keeping with what i reported in my thread i made the other day about yahoo.com. They put UBB on the top of their popular toys section, on their front page.

Or BB in general, I seen alot of people even buying the replicas. When I tiped them off that it didn't change as they kept reading off their wish lists I got alot of "Ugh, all he said we BumbleBee"
