Recasting Shia LaBeouf
I'm of the opinion that Shia LaBeouf should be recast. Since his drunken escapade outside a Walgreens Pharmacy I've lost faith that this young actor deserves the spot as the lead male in the Transformers sequel Transformers 2. I think children who look up to him as their hero need a better role model to look up to. Kids don't always understand that the guy is really a loser in reality and only looks cool because of the movie. I can remember making the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into my heroes at a young age and not understanding that they were not real life figures.I'm willing to give second chances. And why doesn't this thing have a spell check?

the walgreen's incident has made him a certified hollywood star. it's a right of passage to get in trouble with the law
and i don't think after one minor offense he deserves to be re-cast. people have done worse.

I think Shia did a fine job in the first movie. Who gives a damn about what he does in real life on his personal time? I bet he can spell complicated words like "opinion, escapade, sequel, Transformers, and because".
Worry about stuff that matters, man.

Judging by your standards, the careers of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan would've never skyrocketed at all.

Shia is fine. It was your typical incident of Hollywood hubris. Not enough to get him recast.

I agree. I personally liked Shia's performance in Transformers, and this "drunken escapade" Groundswell's talking about is, as you put it, typical Hollywood hubris.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

I hate hollywood. Shia deserves the role in the new movie. Who is he going to be recast as Bobby Bolivia

You mean "excapade".
An incident of "drunk in public" should not ruin someone's career. I'd wager that almost anybody who has ever had a social life has been drunk in public before. I know I've thrown up all over every town I lived in from age 18 to 22. He's just a kid.
He's also a great actor. I actually loathed seeing the first film. I waited until the HD-DVD to see it because I had prejudged Shia. But Spielberg was right, he is a terrific actor. After I saw Disturbia, I knew I had to give him a chance. He's no Harrison Ford, or Tom Hanks as Spielberg compared him to, but he'll do.

No, he means Escapade. He used the word correctly.
Now that grammar class is over, in response to the OP, nah, they won't recast the little jug-eared dork. Only Shia can play Louis Stevens. You know, like he does in every single movie he's in?

Fraking semantics... but Damolisher is right. I did in fact mean Escapade. I checked before I posted Ever since I've had this current iMac, it's become kind of a habit that I take the time to check before I post because there's a dictionary app in the dock.

I agree. But I haven't seen seen all Shia's movies so I dunno about this Louis Sevens. It just wouldn't make any sense to me to recast Sam.

Haha. I was just joking. I was just picking at the original poster, who initially spelled it with an "x". I find it hard to take rants seriously when there's a half-dozen typos in it. Just a peeve of mine.

Shia did a fine job for such a young actor, I was pleased with his performance but I've not seen Disturbia let alone much else he was in but I bought his performance in Transformers and I believe he will continue to do well in Hollywood.
Shia's personal "problem" at the Walgreens was pretty minor and not a big enough controversy to get him kicked off the sequels in my opinion, everyone seems to have forgotten about Tyrese Gibsons personal problems already and seems like it was barely mentioned at all and that was a more serious problem as it was a domestic violence issue with his girlfriend.
Look at the train wreck that is Britney Spears and every other day she continues to make the news with stupid situations that she creates herself, watch as the train derails a little further off the track each week with her.
If anyone needs to be booted out of Hollywood it's her.
She has lost so much respect.

Didn't always have that dictionary in my dock anyway. Put it there because I like having quick access to it in case I have a word I know is wrong and wanna get right.

I agree. Only one good reason why she's still around at all IMO: people take morbid pleasure in her self-destruction.

If you don't have time for such things as making sure you spell words correctly then why do you have time to make a pointless thread about recasting someone in a movie simply because the smarted off to a rent a cop who thought he was drunk?

Let's all judge people after they make a single mistake. Pfft!! What kind of world would that be to live in?
It happens, he'll learn ... become a better person, yada.
Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, those are people that should've known better. They can't be role models.

Just cos he was drunk once he should lose his Job?
If that would ever happen all of Germany would be out of work!
Please stop writing everything in bold, it's like shouting.
I think he's a good actor, I just loved Distorbia and Transformers, besides who cares about the actor and his life?
Judge him by his work, not by his actions in his privet life! Just leave those actors alone and stoop giving them **** cos they do stuff that other people do.
Kids don't care about the person, they care about the character he plays, so he's not a role model.
If your Children start drinking, and doing stuff it's not his fault, it's yours!

Yo, as far as Shia goes, if I took him from his acting, I think I'd have LESS tolerance for him. As I said: Same role, EVERY TIME.

Jeez he was only drunk, whats so bad about that? Of all the bad things going on in the world you think that some drunk actor is gonna cause your children to grow up as delinquents? Get real!
If he doesn't return for the sequel i will be very disappointed as it will feel wrong. I dont like franchises where main characters have different actors playing them, it ruins the flow.
