The design of Movie Megatron
I don't like it. He looks more like the alien from the film 'Alien' than a transformer.
To be honest it's the only thing that lets the film down for me. Who's with me.

I like the alienness and that he is big and bulky. He should be a total badd ass. A warrior King of sorts. Yeah he doesnt look much like G1 megatron.........but then again........megatron has had looked different in each and every series. Only prime remains similar looking. But megatron is always different looking.

I'm with the can't stand it crowd.
Starscream and Blackout both managed to retain what some consider the "alien" look whilst retaining the traditional look.
Megatron, alongside Frenzy, just looked like generic Hollywood monster designs covered in chrome and slapped with the names.

I'll be honest I hated it when I first saw the pictures, but pics just don't do justice for him. In the movie he is bad ass and well, he's Megatron. Even inspite of the new design, he still seems to have cues and nodes to G1 Megatron, and probably 100 times more evil. The head still screams "Megatron" to me.

I never have liked the design of Movie Megatron, but, his character was pure evil, which was a different take on the "traditional" Megatron, who does seem to care about his Decepticons a bit.

i like it. his head is kind of the same shape as G1, but more vicious and evil-looking. the toy (without a repaint) sucks, though.

Thanks, Tweezy

I love it. He looks like the Devil himself! Way to go for the intimidation factor.

And he looks more like megatron than any recent cartoon designs. He's silver, is wearing a helmet, has red eyes, has an arm cannon and big ol legs.

Looks good for a pile of scrap metal lumped together into a vague humanoid shape. Also I just love those useful fags hes got.

Still think they could have done alot better.
The design looks good in CGI, but it's still too messy, especially the arms, and his little stubby feet look ridiculous. Not to mention the whole design just can't seem to translate into a decent toy.
Jet mode is cool though.

I really enjoyed Megatron's look in the film. Its a nice new look, but still retains a G1 feel for him. If he looked exactly as he did in g1 he would look horrible and out of place. Yes it may have been great for those that grew up on Transformers but for this day and age you have to have something that can appeal for everyone. I think they did a good job, he looked badass.
As for the Leader class and the first Voyager toys, sure they have crappy paints, but the BB Metallic Megatron is awsome and looks just like he did in the movie

They are about as useful as G1 characters having teeth huh?
As if thats relevant to his supposed "new and more realistic" aesthetic. But I forgot we were discussing G1 design. As the new and improved Prime would say, my bad.

Its quite relevent, actually, because its a double standard otherwise.
Everyone bitches about new megatron having teeth, but what stupid people like to forget is that G1 TF's, and anything since until the movie, had human-like teeth too. So why isnt anyone constantly whining like a baby about that?
