The End is the greatest Boss fight in video gaming history however.
I could have sworn I read somewhere that if you have MGS 2 data on your memory card, killed bosses would appear in The Sorrow sequence. And I could have sworn that I saw Vamp, but apparently I was mistaken, oh well.
If the End is the greatest boss fight in video game history, then the escape from Grazni Grad must be one of the most exciting ever. There is just so much action and thrills in that sequence, and it is easily the most impressive showing of a Metal Gear's(ancestor anyway) ability.
One minor bit of disapointment I had with MGS 3 was there were no mandatory battles with vehicles other than the Shagohod and guys on motercycles. The Hind D is in there, and that's awsome, but fighting it is optional, and it can be taken out with a single sniper bullet. All the previous MG games that are canon eitehr had a fight with a Hind D or a jet in MGS 2.
And I am in a Metal Gear mood, so I booted up Metal Gears 1 and 2 on the second disc of Subsistance for a second play-through. Agh, both games have their share of aggravation, mostly due to dated play mechanics. I do not like how your codec is useless at least one third of the time, and they normally don't even pick up! If not for gamefaqs, then I would have been pulling my hair out at some moments.
The second one aged MUCH better, and you can really see the actual genesis of Metal Gear Solid gameplay in this game. Hey, without revealing the story, can anyone tell me if Grey Fox pops up in Portable Ops? My friend just got it for PSP, and he said that Campbell is in it, and I'm thinking Grey Fox is in there too cause before he died, he mentioned that Big Boss saved his life twice before joining Foxhound, both times around the Vietnam war.
Who's ready for the Metal Gear anniversery pack?
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3161443That stuff looks pretty cool, but it'd probably be pricey, and probably not a U.S. release either, but I could be wrong.
