I just said the same thing to a friend in an email...
Although I think this reissue looks great, I would've wanted the blue eyes over the yellow.
I'm thinking we'll get a peak at CC Prime within the next two months for sure if not next month.

It's strange. Looking around at some of the different preorders for this figure, some of the pics have yellow eyes, and some of them have blue. And yet, all of the yellow-eyed pics are of CG renders rather than the actual figure, so it's uncertain as to which eye color the figure will have. But it is just a straight reissue of the Earthrise release, then the eyes ought to end up being blue.Sowndwave76 wrote:Although I think this reissue looks great, I would've wanted the blue eyes over the yellow.

Hasbro literally took a bunch of random stock photos from 2019 and threw them on the pre-order page, none of these are new images. You'll recall the figure went through like 4 different iterations, starting with this CGI ahead of NYCC 2019 and then the yellow eyes and gray fists in the display at NYCC 2019. It wasn't until a lot of complaining that they settled on the final colors in pretty rapid turnaround.

I'm still trying to figure out if it's a direct reissue of the Earthrise figure, packaging and all, or if it'll be in united packaging because Pulse lists it as "Transformers Legacy United Leader Class War For Cybertron: Earthrise Optimus Prime Action Figure". BBTS and EE both say it's a rerelease, but Pulse seems to be saying United packaging.

I'm curious why they just didn't plop him into SS86 packaging, maybe because they don't want it to mimic Commander release in case it's still in circulation when that releases? I mean I wouldn't rebuy every bot in SS86 packaging but I would buy a few select characters Like VW Bee, Prime to go with my unopened Jazz, Hot Rod and Kup! However, with the plastic window gone I don't know that I want anymore.

The reissue of Jetfire was the same packaging despite it being three years later than its initial release, so it could be the same for prime. Although the production of Commander Class and Leader Class are likely two different things, which if he's packed in a case with other Leaders I assume they'd want uniform packaging? Or is this a Fan Channel/Exclusive not to hit regular retail?
It appears to be a fan channel thing, he isn't on the leaked wave listing. Though it's still unknown if he'll be released in Earthrise packaging or not thanks to the weird listing on Pulse. Most if not all retailers are just recycling their old Earthrise listing with the same stock photos instead of a new one.

Yet there's a reissue of the Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime coming soon.
For now, it's available at Amazon.ca, but not Amazon.com for reasons.
Set for release September 1st 2024.

Sounds like it was delayed there, it came out in June here, almost exactly one month after the CC was officially announced.

Amazon.ca is always a bit late over Amazon.com.
And sometimes, they don't get the thing at all, like for the first SS Autobots pack or the "light" version of Maverick.

If I recall correctly, I think with the exception of Grand Maximus (since that was a TT exclusive), and Trypticon, every other Titan from 2013-2020 has had at least one re-release, some have had several.

Me too, 100%.
Oh, why not make a "commander" version that would come with a lab vat and that could fit a pretender? I mean, a genuine pretender.
Leader Comic Scorpy + a lab vat, plus a G1 stye pretender that could fit in even if the pretender would be "deluxe" sized that would contain a Core class inner bot. All of this would fit a "Commander" price point I guess?

Well the Pretenders are a conversation all on their own. And that comic panel is a hilarious unintentionally ironic foreshadowing to the IDW preggo Scorponok.-Kanrabat- wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:He would have to be an all new mold. And I would get him instantly.

But if we have a Scorponok, we need to have a Maximus, and to accommodate the double headmaster, he would have to be a commander sized figure. And if Max is, then Scorponok should be as well. I wouldn't even mind the double headmaster gimmick for him either, even if it's not comic accurate. Otherwise he could be a large leader and Maximus a smaller commander, in order to keep them somewhat within scale.
