It shouldbe xp dependent.
No matter if you have become a build whizzkid, or have sacrificed HUGE chunks of your life, If your team has the xp to be in the top 10, 50 or something teams for xp, you should have that achivement recognised.

Or you could just be saying that because you lost it all on Battle Beasts.Tifereth wrote:Base on experience and how active the player has been, i dont see how much energon u have an important point.

A snapshot of the high score tables that can be kept as a hall of fame whould be good enough for me, but ill never get enough to make a dent in the top 100 in the time we have left.

Energon isn't as important, there are those of us that use it up reseting, and rearmoring. They tend to use it up quickly.

when people where arguing that we shouldn't balance the weapons cuase they would then need to reconfig their bots, and didn't have the energon to afford to re-armour them, i did a quick list dwon of all the comanders who couldn't afford 10 tonnes of electrum.

No bonus is necessary.
What do veteran and high level players get out of this deal?
Renewed competition, that's what.

Veterans start the game with slightly more knowledge of what works, and what doesn't; although a lot of rules would change, the Veterans probably have a better idea of what's worth trying.
If you're tyrying to determine who gets awards, why not do it on an individual basis?
e.g., an award for having...
the TF with most experience
the TF with most arena victories
the TF with most mission victories
the highest Battle Beast success rate
the lowest Battle Beast success rate!
the TF with most kills on higher level bots
the TF with most kills on lower level bots
the TF with the longest non-reset time
the most reset TF
...etc.
...and maybe make each one a specific icon that can be used by that player as his avatar or in his sig?

The problem with that is it would be very time-consuming to come up with bookoos of icons for all those recognitions, and I doubt any of us have that kind of patience

How about something real real simple. If you want to be known as having played in Version 1, just add it to your signature profile? "I played for years and years and years of V1, tremble before me" etc.

We should make an icon that has a t-shirt on it and says "I played in Heavy Metal War V1 and all I got was this lousy shirt!"

Would Optimus Prime ask for an award?
Would Megatron give a damn?

How about a shirt that says "I stayed true to that a game that reset my account twice, had so much down time that it was almost unbearable, and almost lost the game because the creater
didn't want it on the site anymore, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt"

If you really want to work out rankings, xp is easily the best gauge.
Lot of leg work involved (hence needing to justify time constraints) but have average team xp or total team xp (there are disadvantages/advantages either way depending on numbers in teams) divided by playing time in days.
Would be adventageous for the players who have been regular for the long periods of time, as they would be levelled higher up and earning a higher average xp per battle, and would be more advantageous for the newer player playing lots versus a player with a team in similar size xp who has been playing longer. Rewards potential maybe.
As a PS, I'd be pissed (I'd get over it no doubt) if it was taken as having a bot in the top 2000 say, when I would have one that is around 2100.
The other thought, but I imagine impossible to calculate or even obtain, would simply be by the total number of battles fought in the life of their team, divided by the amount of members.
Thinking around the square a little I know, but yes, just thoughts.

how about anyone who argues enough to actually become a veteran. i mean anyone who actually cares enough about it will check these forums, and will have a knowledge of the game! if u see where i'm going with this, i dont have to write out a longwinded explanation!

It's all about symbolism. People like symbols. Symbols work best with wide recognition of what they symbolize.
Some people would appreciate an advantage for what they see as time and effort spent in the game. The powers that be decided that any material advantage other than starting with 12 soldiers would not be awarded. So be it; it makes sense to me to start everyone with a rather level playing field.
But what about symbolic recognition of time and effort spent? That would also be nice.
