It's fascinating to hear a little about the history of the game and how it developed. Some of those ideas, like the strength of iron armour, just sound mad. But then I'm an historian, so I like seeing how things have gotten to where they are today...

It's always good to know when you're right...

So? You were asking what the damage range for the weapon was. In that case the minimum is 1%. We don't need to know if the minimum is actually .000000017% or .99%. That knowledge has no practical application.

I think I see the conflict here. You only want to know what the damage range is in a constrained situation and subject only to the RNG variable. I want to know the overall damage range of the weapon.

Yes.
I want to know a numerical value(s) that can be attached to each weapon, and I want them against non-armored, zero-end targets. That'd give me a part of the game mechanics.

After all, it's not very different from the game I work on in my company :) - there's weapon with lowest and highest possible damage, then there's character's Strength that modifies the damage and, last, there's enemy Armour and enemy Constitution that decrease the result.

First, we've got to know the margin of weapon damage.

Next, we can ask how Strength modify it.

After that, we can talk about End and armours...

and i want a bacon sandwich.

EACH weapon has a different min/max damage and at present i think Glyph(and possible PR) have those figures, all 162, and i don't have that data

I do know how strength/endurance modifys those figures however, but as glyph doesn't seem to want give out this, i'll respect his wishes and not blab either.

and Armour's a total mess apparently

I've got another idea.

If the weapon numerical stats, instead of comparative words such as light, medium, heavy, etc, were given at the weapons table - would it help with the situation?
As of now, people can only guess that, say, X-Ray Laser, or Dol, or BBs are better than the comparable weapons, so they concentrate on them and want no substitutes. If the exact stats were known, it'd probably mean that people see that the difference isn't so big as they imagined it and would decide which weapon to choose.

Of course, I can be wrong and it could mean the second-to-top weapon buy-out race once again...

What do you think of it? And what would Glyph say about the possibility of such changes at the table anyway?

so what in your mind is a comparable weapon to the blades then?

and yes it would mean that the next weapon sells out, tell them that weapon X is the daddy and it sells out very quickly (unless that weapon is the energon crossbow).

and remember strength affects weapons out put much the same way as armour reduces it, so even a small difference in raw damage becomes magnified at high strength.

and of course there's also the recharge times, those can cripple would be decent weapons like rocket launchers.
