Does the Leader Jetfire mold (also used for the Seekers) feel like a KO to you?

Use coupons it helps with the price point.
I did and Jetfire ran me $28 with tax which is around Voyager MSRP.

You Amercans are so spoiled! I had to pay this 60$ + taxes at my local TrU.

Even then iirc, there were a lot of b*tchin' about why no extra gun at a regular price etc etc.

i just got my jetfire. so....
i understand disappointment, but not life altering hatred. he feels light and slightly delicate, but not hollow. and i dont even see the hollow bits unless im really looking for it. maybe im just "glass is half full" because of all the negativity, and i went in with low expectations.
i would still buy 3P add-ons to fill him up, but im still happy. he looks phenomenal in robot mode (love that battle mask), jet mode is nice (though not what we wanted), and i dont hate chrome. my message to everyone out there is, do your research. but he gets my endorsement.

Re: Generations Leader Jetfire feels like a KO and it disgusts me.
Last Leader-class I got was ROTF Starscream as AOE Prime has too much kibble for me to want it.
After seeing some pics of the figure, at first I was thinking about ti, but the mose I saw, the less enthused I was. There was something very simplistic and bland about it that wasn't winning me over. I honestly felt like it's Classics voyager counterpart was more owrth the money as you got a good figure and plenty of weapons to boot.
It's also the same for me with the upcoming Prime and Megatron Generations figures. They just don't seem like what they could be, like they're missing something that would make them worth the money.

I just got him. I like him. Sure I wish he didn't have the hollow parts, but he looks great. Easily more screen accurate than the Classics voyager. I don't think he feels cheap or like a ko. I like that his transformation is not needlessly complex. I keep going back to him and changing him back and forth. He is a win in my book.

I've taken a look at him...
Really, what damns him in my eyes is the altmode. The Classics Voyager mold had an altmode that was a mix of elements from the cartoon and the original toy, and it wouldn't be too much work to make it look completely like the cartoon. But this... This slaps the cartoon robot mode on the undercarriage Aerialbot-style while regressing the altmode back to the Veritech. You know, the thing he only turned into in a single commercial.
Why. Just, why.

I don't think its fair to compare the transform mode to the G1 Aerialbts. The G1 Aerialbots are simply just standing and you make them lie down on their belly, flip the arms, collapse the feet and extend the rear ailerons and voila.......jet mode!
Jetfire, though having his faux cockpit beneath him, still emulates the undercarriage in the cartoon and near seamless

except for those exposed fists. And given his origins as a Macross VF-1S Valkyrie....why not?

Why not? Because he only ever turned into the VF-15 altmode in the commercial advertising him and Shockwave. Because there isn't a toy of him that truly turns into the altmode he had in his primary fictional appearances. And because they decided to make him turn into a VF-15's jet mode while giving him the G1 cartoon and comics robot mode, he doesn't even do it as well as the '80s VF-15 toy.

Ryan has the best shots but look at the under the fuselage.......if you don't call this seamless, then I give up

Yamato

We all could go on about the internal politics on the G1 show's radical shift from VF1S to Floro Dery's buffed and boxy Jet mode (if you read tfwiki, it was done intentionally not to look like the toy). This Jetfire btw Isn't the latter but more of an amalgamation of both as you can see in his robot mode though less buffed.
I too would wish for the one you want (the Floro Dery version), maybe wait for the MP incarnation would be more realistic. Expecting that in the "leader class" and price range is not too practical.

Okay so I just got this guy, and overall I like him alot. I don't mind the chrome or the lack of wrist swivel. He does feel really light though for his size.
One thing that perplexes me is why the underside of the wings (the side that shows in robot mode), isn't smooth. Why is it full of deep inset ridges? I don't what the thought process was there? It kind of looks unfinished or something?

Dude, nostalgia be damned, that boxy jet mode from the cartoon looked ugly as hell. I can't blame them for omitting that from the toy.

I finally picked up Generations Jetfire over the weekend, and I have to say, I like this figure a LOT. His robot mode is perfect for my Classics display. Jetfire looks like he stepped right out of the cartoon. He's standing tall behind Optimus Prime and TOWERING over the deluxe, scout, and legends Autobots from the 1984-85 cast. I liked the Classics Voyager version before, but Generations Leader Jetfire is the definitive choice if you want as screen accurate as possible a display (at least for robot mode) for your Transformers. I don't mind the hollow parts so much, because the guns hide them, and you can't see them from head on. What I don't care for is the chromed weapons, but Takara's version will fix that. I'll put the Takara weapons on my Hasbro bot and have the perfect version. Weird that Takara's version has the less screen accurate paint embellishments this time, but Hasbro got it essentially "right" (except for the red paint on the wrists).

I saw this figure at my TRU today, and I was surprised by how big it is. I still didn't buy it, as I stand by my opinion that it's not worth more than $25. So if I see it on clearance or someone sells it cheap on eBay, I might get it. The robot mode is actually not bad in-hand. Still nowhere near the "G1" toy, even if it was a mold from a different toy line.

That's what's good in the good ol' USA, when the stores go on sale, they really go on SALE!In my case, the country where I'm stationed in, Jetfire is just available at specialty shops (why the local TRU isn't carrying him is a mystery), so we pay full price+
Can't wait til January 2015 when Tomy Jetfire gets released.

The Tomy version is actually art box accurate. The Hasbro ver is more G1 cartoon accurate.

Ah, so that's what they were going for. It makes sense. Takara seems to go for screen accuracy for their "Classics" releases, except if Hasbro already hit that mark, then they do something else just to be different. Now I at least know upon what Takara was basing their version of Jetfire.

And surprisingly, he (Tomy version) is called Jetfire and not Skyfire like the henkei version.
Based on early screen shots, the Tomy version looks to have a brighter white plastic.
