Not sure why I have to repeat myself or even suggest that I was open to discussing this ...

Not questioning it. Just that there's precedent where the staff said it was okay to discuss it when I raised the issue. It was in the Titans Return discussion of Hotrod using the FP Armor. One of the seibertron staff said it was okay doing that. Paraphrasing his answer, so long as the official product was the main point of discussion....
Since it's you who states its wrong then that entire staff should also be informed as well. No talking about 3rd party in the main thread so lesser beings like me won't break da rulez.

You just don't know when to quit do you? All week long you've been on one particular staff members case, now you're using this to have a go at others.
This was a matter discussed privately amongst staff members, decisions were made, and now we're slowly implementing them. I tried to do things politely and subtle, but no, YOU just had to go and turn it around and make it about staff again.
Really tired of your constant criticism of staff. Now that I've been forced to explain things, which really did not need to be explained, a simple direction just had to be followed, this discussion is over. Any further responses will result in a warning.

Without wishing to ignite a flamewar (no, not THAT Flamewar) I think some discussion of unofficial figures will be inevitable in these threads. "Official" MPs no longer exist in a vacuum, and some mention of them, be it "I'm definitely getting MP Shockwave over Quakeblast" or "You know, I don't think I like the official MP Inferno, I'm getting Hellfire instead" is unavoidable, and not particularly egregious provided the whole thread doesn't get steered off course. Obviously if it takes the entire thread off the rails that needs to be dealt with, but the occasional bit of discussion isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not trying to be difficult here, just playing devil's advocate.
Anyway, topic:
I like the look of Artfire. The targetmaster is cool as hell, and the extra toy sticker details really help break up the sea of flat panels. I'm not too fussed on Inferno himself and if I do get any version of him it'll be the Maketoys version, but if I feel the need to own this mold, this will probably b e the version I go for.

In fairness they also said it was a one time exception because it was the FP armor ON Hot Rod, not comparing another company's Hot Rod knockoff to the real one. They also said not to do it again.
On topic: Those tampos on Artfire are never going to look good to me, but they aren't enough to make me not want the figure. Shame he wasn't in the cartoons, then we might have been spared the technicolor mess.
Just noticed for the first time that Artfire doesn't hold his Targetmaster but rather uses it in place of Inferno and Grapple's hose/gun hand (but still has an optional handle). Kinda neat.

Try the official decal set I mentioned a few posts back. I guarantee they are official. It makes Inferno looks like this. If you want I will put up it's link where available. ( I get no financial benefit from this fyi)

Nice subtle jab eh.

As for the decal, being in a pseudo journo profession, shouldn't you have an open mind when it comes to experiencing new things? See, touch, verify then judge?
You only see a low res image of the applied decals. Try seeing them in person. Some figs also don't translate well on camera, like people...the term photogenic ring a bell?

Artfire is technically in my opinion the final "final" version of the Inferno mold. It's a good catch (maybe Takara will do another Inferno release ver 2 for that)
The added molding on the shoulders and paint apps. I wonder though if he can alsoswitch faces, but only has one alternate expression so the target master offsets that.

Thanks.

It's not about quality, it's about application and existence. I've never been a fan of the bright colored stickers that came with the '84-'85 figures and usually left the bulk of them off the figures. I thought they were ugly then and look even worse on modern figures. I much prefer the bare look from the cartoon and comics or the sculpted and painted details of modern figures over stickers with fake details and random geometry.
At most I'd want decent looking taillight stickers for these three and nothing else. Maybe Reprolabels will make a nice 3D sticker set, I'd buy that.

See first then condemn. Like the Gipper's "Verify before trusting." Fyi, I don't have any financial stake with that product.
Though concerning the shin panels, a 3D decal type would be better. That much I agree

Comparing both molds side to side make you appreciate the effort in designing both figures.
Heck, back in the G1 days, we just had to squint to pretend each one was a different one when in fact, aside from the crane, just a carbon copy of the other.
Also prefer the non anime face sculpt on him.
