I know some of you might be thinking, "this Varia guy sure likes fantasy battles doesn't he?" lol Well, that's because I do. And that's due to that there are plenty of fights I've thought of.

This one is quite simple: the newest incarnation of Spyro the Dragon (from the "Legend of Spyro" trilogy) versus the original recipe (of the classic games). Both characters are going by current incarnations (from separate games).

Original Spyro's pros and cons

-Pros: Flame, ice, water, and electricity breaths. Sharp horns for ramming opponents. Able to glide.

-Cons: Poor endurance, able to be defeated in only four hits (since he is assisted by the dragonfly Sparx). Can be arrogant and rush into things.

New Spyro's pros and cons

-Pros: Flame, ice, earth, and electricity breaths. Sharp horns for ramming opponents. Skilled hand-to-hand/close quarters combatant. Good endurance, able to take a large amount of punishment before being defeated. Able to actually fly in contrast to gliding. Known for thinking about things before going in first. Not distracted by pride.

-Cons: Can be naive, and sometimes reckless.

So, in my opinion for this fight, close quarters fighting wouldn't be wise for Original Spyro when going up against the New Spyro, as he would likely get mauled by his claws, bites, and tail strikes. The best way to fight would be to attempt hit-and-run tactics with his breath attacks and ramming when he has an opportunity. New Spyro, however, is exceptional when using long range breath attacks though, and is also able to create a spiked, spherical shield with his earth breath. He also has the advantage of being able to fly.

I believe that New Spyro would defeat his predecessor, though I think Original Spyro could last a little bit if he played it smart. If New Spyro managed to get in close however, he would most likely slay the Original Spyro.

Keep in mind, those of you who are fans of the new and old Spyro games, that this is NOT a debate of favoritism, but an actual battle between the two incarnations of the character, of whom are quite different from one another in their own ways. So please remember that when you vote to consider both players' attributes.

So, what say you?

Judging by what ive played and what i know ( having played both classic and newer games) I would say that the new spyro has the advantage. but i see the old spyro as the figure head of the spyro legacy. His games lead on to better games till the new spyro grew to his place and became what we call "The Legend of Spyro". Even though The old spyro has his props as Varia provided, the new one shows his superiority and keepin some of the orginal traits that made spyro "Legend" LONG LIVE SPYRO!!!
