Zartan's packaging comes to ways: one says 'With Color Changing Face', and the other does not have that on the package, but is still supposed to do the color change.

All variants are supposedly equally difficult/easy to find at retail as their non-variant counterparts. I have yet to see a black buckled Cobra Commander, or Wave 3 of any kind.

Well I mis-read the invoice from BBTS I got my Wave 2 and 3 figures coming in so I'm happy. I also picked up Commando Flint today; looks cool but I would've liked to have seen him a bit more like his classic self.

Oh I so hope they keep doing those shirts. I really want a Firefly. I would prefer if it had the GI Joe logo on the front, and the file card pic on the back, but still, cool.

THE RED NINJAS-

Storm Shadow, Stalker and Kamukura dropped into a sewer and chased the red Ninja. Snake-Eyes defeated them all, then engaged in a one-on-one battle with Storm Shadow. Meanwhile, it was discovered that T'JBang has had his mind "exchanged" with Sei Tin, thus explaining T'Jbang's evil mechanations.

As Storm Shadow fought Snake-Eyes throughout the complex, Storm Shadow tried reasoning with his friend. Eventually, Storm Shadow held an escaped Scarlett at his swords edge, commanding Snake-Eyes to choose between killing him, saving Scarlett or remaining a part of the Red Ninja clan. Snake-Eyes responded by wounding Storm Shadow, but not killing him. This act has caused Snake-Eyes to return to his normal self, and he subsequently re-joined the Joes, though Storm Shadow is now healing.

Basically they were the rival ninja clan to the Arashikage (SE, Jinx and SS clan), either that or they were outcasts from the Arashikage, I cannot remember. They have less scruples than the Arashikage clan, and have been used by CC in the past to get certain tasks done.

Well yesterdya I found another nice haul of anniv figures.

I picked up:

Zartan
Cobra Soldier
Cobra Officers x2
Cobra Legions pack (if it weren't for the Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow Figures being in place of some other grunts (preferably a Crimson guard and perhaps a Red Ninja these things would sell like hotcakes)

Funny thing is, I've passed on Serpentor and gotten at least 1 of everything, yet Flint remains an elusive little #$@%ard.

Chuck: You nver know, Hasbro may yet release another version of Flint like they've been doing with SS, SE, Destro, and CC. We'll have to wait and see.

Finally found some new stuff!!

I went to 2 walmarts last night and found 3 cases worth of Wave 2.

This is what I got..

3 x Beachheads
3 x Cobra Troopers
1 x Serpentor
1 x Lady Jaye
1 x Buzzer

Now im all caught up with all the waves for now. :grin:

and just when I thought I didnt need to go hunting anymore...

As long as they put out a Flint with the pistol grip shotgun I'll be happy. By the by I just realized that the Black Ops Shockwave came with repainted weapons that came with Jungle Commando Snake Eyes.

ok guys, i need a little history lesson.... whats the story behind the the helmeted cobra commander and the cloth covered cobra commander? are they two different people? or are they the same character that just changed costumes as the cartoon progressed? whats the deal behind the two costumes :???:

It's the same guy. Usually they'd alternate between the Mask and the Hood. There was never really an explanation aside from being able to sell more Cobra Commander toys. On some occassions he'd wear both in an episode but was never shown switching between the two in a scene. CC lost the mask when he was turned into a Cobra in the movie. When DIC took over he was reverted to human form though he was still part snake when he got the new uniform. He got a different suit with a new mask but eventually took the hood fulltime during the later half of DIC's run.

I remember one episode that featured Destro and the Baroness walking in on CC eating. Apparently his face was quite hideous as Destro asked him to put his hood back on. One thing that was featured in both the comics and toon was the fact that his helmet had some sort of booby trap in it. The uniform that he had after the movie was the armor that Fred XVII used in the comics. Interesting note is that this was around the time that the figure bios tended to follow the comics more.

can someone please specify what exactly is out in stores now?
i've been outta town for a while and i need to do some catching up. all i've gotten so far are the first two 2-packs and all of wave 1 except flint and cobra trooper. i'm planing an all day hunt for friday so i hope i didn't miss out on too much.

And what do we remember of the Joes from that episode? Nothing, because the Cobra's were that much cooler. I think I was combining episodes because I was thinking of another time that CC, Destro, and the Baroness were together and Destro was flirting with the Baroness and CC started to gag. It was one of the funniest things I ever saw.
