Profile: Among the Insecticons, Hardshell stands out as the clearly largest and perhaps the most ferocious of them all. He doesn't need to prove it through words, as his many battle scars and terrifying reputation, gained while off-lining many Autobots, including even few Wreckers, are ample proof. Reports from Scorponok's early experiments on savage Insecticons described him as preferring to rely on strategy and weaponry instead of his instincts unlike most of the nearly mindless swarm. Powerful and ruthless Hardshell relies on others of his kind far less than most Insecticons - a trait that allowed him to be trained into Scorponok's personal spy and assassin. Like the case often is with beings of his power and accomplishments, Hardshell is hardly immune to arrogance and is known to gloat about those he has destroyed in battle. He does not believe in mid-battle banter, viewing it as a sign of weakness. Instead he sets his sights in destroying the opposition quickly and effectively - though often in very gruesome manner. Hardshell has little patience for the mind games played by some other Insecticons but is nevertheless known to ferociously attack those who insult him or his brethren for their origin.

Abilities: Hardshell is the most aggressive and tough adversary in the Insecticons. This can be supported with Hardshell with lasting lengthy periods against the likes of Dinobots and his recorded success in of off-lining several Wreckers. Strong, durable and well trained in pit fighting techniques, Hardshell is a dangerous opponent to be taken on by most. He is a seasoned hunter, a heritage of his savage Insecticon ancestors. When needed, he is also an able leader. Hardshell is armed with clawed fingers, several blades attached to his body, a laser blaster and a rocket launcher capable of firing either explosive missiles or containers filled with chemicals such as strong acids.

Weaknesses: Arrogance aside, Hardshell has no glaring weaknesses.
