Just noticed something (Megatron's leg)
Apologies if this has been addressed before.
I just noticed right at the end of the movie that when they drop Megatron into the ocean that his right leg is missing.
We know this didn't happen during the battle. Are we to assume that Sector 7 (or whoever) kept the leg to do experiments on?
I just think it's interesting because the movie established twice that separated parts of Transformers (Scorponok and Frenzy) are able to function on their own. Could be a starting plot device for part 2.

Good explanation! I was wondering about this yesterday and this makes sense.
I also wondered if maybe the government cut-up Megatron and the other Decepticons on purpose, so that "just in case" they ever WERE reactivated then it would be a lot harder for them to function properly.

I never thought of that but I agree with it. But if the government did do that then why not take more pieces of them apart?

If they did cut Megsy and the others up then why not take out vital components? They had Ratchet there to help them out with that.

Yes, an interesting idea. I also wonder why it was only Megatron and Blackout that we saw on that ship ( from what i could see). Wheres Brawl's, Bonecrusher's, and Barricade's ( assuming he is dead) bodies?

They have War Bears...F**king War Bears...what more can you ask for an Unstoppable Army?

Here's a logical (if not interesting) solution: An earlier draft of the script had those characters being more damaged. In the end, that plot point was dropped, but it wasn't in the budget to fix the animation. (This fix can work on so many situations in so many films.)

I wouldn't have minded seeing them dump Bonecrusher and Brawl/Devestator's remains in the ocean. That way you can theorhetically have Soundwave revive Megatron and build the real Devestator out of the remaining parts of Blackout/Brawl/Bonecrusher.
but then again maybe they had already dumped those parts before dumping Megs.

I had noticed Megatron lacking a right leg as well but naive me didn't think to entertain the thought on how that happened.
I don't think Barricade is dead though. He disappears from the scene around the time Bonecrusher transforms. I was thinking about that scene today and come to the conclusion that Prime was late to the city battle because of Bonecrusher, but it didn't take that long. So perhaps he had also disposed of Barricade. But this is speculation.
Anyways, I'm thinking Barricade came back later and hauled off Bonecrusher's body before it could be claimed for disposal.

if u look when megs is trying to run when the raptors are bombing him, prime gave him a low kick that could have knocked it off.

If I kicked you in the leg, it might injure you, it might even break your leg. but it wouldn't break your leg clean off.

No he's right. I'm sure when Prime trips Megs at the end of their battle, thats when his leg came off. It explains his crawling to Sam instead of walking.

But at the end of the battle, he stands up after being 'Sparked...
I thought he just went up on his knees?

I wondered about Barricade's disapearance. It's possible that Prime killed him offscreen, which is pretty lame. His fate could have been cut from the final film.
I noticed the DVD had no deleted scenes and supposedly some of them where supposed to be reinserted back into the movie for the IMAX release. It kind of pisses me off when I buy a movie and it is either stripped down or there are other features that will be added to the Director's Cut Ultimate Special Edition a few months down the road.
I wonder what Megatron's plan were after he recovered the cube. Where they going to meet back at another location and devise a plan or just run amuck and reek havock in general. I also wonder if Barricade received a transmission from Megatron or Starscream to fall back to a certain location. Maybe it is his job to contact other Decepticons like Bumblebee did with the Autobots.
Also, is Frenzy official killed in action? He has already been beheaded once and remained functional. I'm just wondering if he is offically now dead or what.

Here we go again...you gotta go by what happened in the movie...if it's not in the movie, it didn't happen...That's just speculation and I'm pretty sure Barricade will be in TF2 cause he's not dead...What's lame is the fact that people make stuff up about stuff that didn't take place during the movie.

QFT!! I bought the 2-disc edition that had the prequel cartoon in it and there were no special features at all. And then my sons talked me into buying the DVD set that's got the case that transforms into Optimus Prime. Admittedly, it's a really cool case so didn't take much persuading, but there were still no deleted scenes on that "bonus features" disc, either. Now that's 2 sets I've bought, and you're right, in a few months they're going to want me to buy another one to see deleted scenes and the IMAX stuff? I think I'll have to borrow that from someone. I'm a big TransFan, but there ARE limits.

Oh, I don't know for certain another version will be released but it seems pretty likely there will be. It always happens. People that really enjoyed the movie get punished for buying the DVD on release day only for a superior version to surface a few months later.
Since I already know that there is another cut of the film out there with extended and deleted scenes added back into the movie (i.e. the IMAX version) I wonder how long it will be before we see that one on DVD? I don't think the correct answer is never unless Dreamworks Pictures, Bay, and everyone else involved decides that they hate money. There's already the stripped down single disc DVD, the double disc version, Transforming Case version, the Walmart Exlcusive, and the HD-DVD version. Most fans on more than one version. Why not one more but this time give us everything including deleted scences, making of, how they came up with the story and characters, and CGI special features? The more the better and the easier it will be for me to justify buying another copy. Add in stuff about drawing from G1 and comaprisons or taking Protoforms and lines from Beast Wars or whatever. Make it the Transformers version of the Lord of the Rings Special Extended Cuts. Those discs were packed full of stuff.

If I punched your head, would your eye pop out?Bonecrusher's did. Maybe Prime is just that tough. Plus, symple physics, if metal is super cooled for thousands of years and then thawed rapidly, it's pretty brittle.
No, I going to go with the "scientific experimentation" story. Megs couldn't have lost his leg that easily from prime.
The f22s did hurt him badly, but prime basically tripped him before he could get to Sam. My proof is that when Sam jammed the Allspark in Megs chest Megs was on his knees for a minute, then fell dead.
BTW, I think Bonecrusher's remains could still be under the freeway pass. I mean he was the only robot that died away from mission city.
