Any word yet on how tall the new Dino Megazord is? I want it, but I don't want to pay $170 for it if it's a shrimp. Just telling us the scale is basically telling us nothing.

Haha, lol, yeah. 1\144 scale for something that doesn't exist and only ever used made up buildings and sets in its surrounding.
But wow, thanks Kurthy, 11.5 inches is pretty damn big.

Taking a tape measure to some of my Legacy Megazords, 11.5 inches will put it at about an inch taller than the 2010/Legacy Dino Megazord and just a smidge shorter than the Legacy Thunder Megazord.
I never owned the original 1993 MMPR Megazord (though a friend lent me his for a time, so I did get to play with it), but looking at comparison pics of it with the 2010 one, it's a bit bigger, so this new Hasbro Megazord looks to be about the same height as the original 1993 MMPR mold/1992 Zyuranger Daijujin mold.

Now, I know that the articulation on Hasbro's Donufury Megazord would not impress anyone accustomed to what we get from transformers but just to understand how revolutionary it is, check out this fan's excitement as he plays with this new megazord at the 12 minute mark

While I haven't bought any of the new zords from the shows, I have dabbled in the new Power Rangers line here and there. I even bought that Amazon-exclusive Dino Megazord set. With that said I really would've liked to have seen Hasbro work with Bandai Japan on designs and releases. Perhaps we could've seen vintage reissues of some of the older Sentai mechs that never saw the day here. Maybe G1 Jetfire.

I'm genuinely glad that power ranger fans are so happy with hasbro's new offerings. They honestly deserve better than the garbage the previous brand owner had been putting out.
I ordered the masterpiece megazord, but I hope Warden puts out a wider and cheaper selection of fully poseable zords, I can't and won't pay $180 for each megazord they put out. But I would pay about $15-20 per zord for a "deluxe" megazord

At 11.5" definitely feels like a decent price, I doubt Hasbro could do a Combiner Wars style set at that price these days (it's roughly less than what Legacy Menasor will cost).
If this really is Hasbro's take on PR Masterpieces then I'd like to think the prices will not be normalized the same way they aren't in TR Masterpiece. For example the Thunder Megazord isn't all that complicated, it really should cost less, while the Ninja Megazord is roughly as complicated as the Dino Megazord so should be about the same price, but more if they include the Falconzord (and they should). Dragonzord will probably be the same price as the Dino Megazord since despite being shorter it's a chunky bot with a big tail and lots of moving parts.

I don't see why not, megazords are a mainstay of power rangers, and the zords themselves are exceptionally simpler than any tf so I think they could easily introduce a range of zords that approximate tfs, maybe not in volume but there's a lot of material to work from.

I have mostly shifted my collecting over to the Minipla/Super Minipla/Shokugan Modeling Project series, because I will no longer stand for brick zords, plus they take up significantly less space. However I admire what they've done with the Dino Fury zords and I came very close to pulling the plug on them the other day after passing them in stores repeatedly. The one thing that stopped me was that I hadn't seen the Black and Blue zord set for a while and I was afraid it would be hard to find. The store I was at only had the Red t-rex and the green/pink zord sets. It's all or nothing so I went with nothing. Then the next day I saw some of the black/blue set at another store. Oh well. I'll grab them soon enough.
I adamantly object to the notion that the Thunder Megazord is less complicated than the Megazords on either side of it, especially if we're going to give it decent articulation. There's a reason it's usually significantly more expensive than other Megazords. The red dragon has to transform from the dragon mode to the human mode and be articulated in that form. So ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck. All of that is on top of the joints needed to transform it between dragon and warrior modes, although some of those transformation joints do work as articulation on the robot.
On all iterations of Dairenoh/Thunder Megazord so far (BOJ, BOA, Legacy, and Artisan), only the shoulders, elbows, and neck have had articulation. Making the dragon into a decently articulated figure on its own shouldn't pose much of a challenge, but then you stack the armor on for the megazord mode and you have parts bumping into parts. Typically you rotate the inner robot's legs sideways to insert them into the leg components in order to space the legs out more in combined mode. If they did that then they have to add additional knee joints on the side of the inner robot's legs for the combined form. You also need a way to have the thigh covers stay attached to the legs when it poses and they need to be able to go where the legs go. The firebird/houou forms waist armor, which can get in the way of articulation. The lion/shishi needs a way to accommodate the waist articulation, since the head forms the codpiece. So you're either looking at a complex swivel mechanic or the head portion detaches from the chest armor. Lastly, the fists of the inner robot slot into the elbow joints of the combined robot, so most likely they'd have to redesign that attachment method a bit to give the megazord elbows. Meanwhile the main concerns that the Dino Megazord have are adding knees and elbows, which are pretty easy to squeeze in. Everything else boils down to a little more articulation on the existing joints. There's a reason that Bandai Shokugan hasn't tackled this in their Shokugan Modeling Project line yet, because to pull off this design with their standard of articulation while also being reasonably affordable would take a lot of black magic. There is a non-transforming figure of the Thunder Megazord coming out soon that poses like a dream in ways that I don't think any transforming/combining version would ever be able to replicate because of the intricacies of its design.
If anything the Ninja Megazord is simpler, even when you look into adding articulation. The frog forms the entire lower half of the robot, and the frog legs already have to bend a whole bunch for transformation, so that's pretty much set. Allow for a swivel joint on the waist instead of multi-point attachment so it can rotate, engineer some outward swing in the shoulders and add some elbows to the ape and wolf.
A possible shogun megazord is where things will get interesting, as trying to fit hip and knee articulation into that thing proved to be a challenge on the Super Minipla that they weren't able to fully overcome. Also each zord needs to be fairly articulated on their own, at least basic action figure level. Separate legs, knees, hips, shouders, elbows.

I'm looking at it in terms of parts count and articulation. With the Thunder Megazord the only articulated thing in the box is the Red Dragon Thunderzord, everything else is his vaguely animal shaped armor parts. They just snap onto the Dragon's bot mode, there's no real transformation to form the Thunder Megazord like there is to form the Dino Megazord. Unlike the Sabretooth Tiger Zord there's no way to add more articulation to the rest of the Assault Team aside from maybe ankle tilts for the leg parts. In my eyes there's no real comparison between the two that would make them equal priced, even though I'm sure they will be.
The Ninja Megazord can add articulation to every Zord in the set, finish what the Legacy version started.

A couple of years ago they did a Dino Megazord that was all plastic and I think smaller than this. Amazon had a box set of all the Zords that I think you can still find. I'm not sure how well it sold since there hasn't been a Dragonzord or any other Zord released.

While I like the Dinofyry Megazord, I am rather underwhelmed by it's 5 knights (ultimate) mode. It just feels so Top heavy, nothing in the lower half if the body changes.

Couple things as I've been kinda getting back into Power Rangers, but I'm really only interested in Zords.
First I finally got around to shipping my ZAP Dino Megazord in my Pile of Loot from BBTS (had to pay $31 in sales tax, there's a ton of stuff in this order). I know the reviews aren't amazing compared to Bandai's best offering, but I found a lot of the complaints to be very nitpicky and there was a number of things that some reviewers really liked so I'm looking forward finally having it in hand. Yes I have the Dragonzord on pre-order and no the size doesn't bother me. Also ordered the Astro Megazord today. Power Rangers in Space was when I stopped watching the series regularly and wasn't really buying many Zords so I don't have any real attachment to this one, but it looks fun and seeing it on display towering over the Dino Megazord at the same price really sold me on it. I just like the idea of a bunch of giant Zords and Megazords on a shelf so I'll probably buy all of them regardless. Would have preferred they went in order, but whatever, they're all good. I would guess the Delta Megazord is next or coming along pretty soon.
The other thing I've been buying is the Don Brothers DX "Zords". Don Onitaijin is a ridiculously fun and had some unprecedented articulation. Better hip joints and a flexible skirt would have been nice, but otherwise it's really cool! Also got Toradragonjin which is also very cool though not as articulated as the Onitaijin, the Don Robogoku (the gold dragon) is ridiculously long while the Don Robobolt (the purple tiger) is just short of having it's own bot mode, he even has a whole bot head of his own that gets mostly covered to form Toradragonjin. Combining Don Onitaijin with Don Robogoku and Don Robobolt results in your typical "Megazord" brick tower with no articulation, but it sure looks impressive .
Neither of these guys came with any paperwork or instructions so that was fun. Spent a lot of time looking over the box and working out their combinations that way. No idea what's coming next, if anything. I doubt I'll be getting the Don ZenkaiOh, it's just a carry over from the previous series and I didn't like those much.

Yeah, what he said. I don't care enough about the show to get into it, but I love the bots, all based on various Japanese legends and myths. And as a big fan of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann where half the bots where big pointed sunglasses it was love at first sight! (Pun intended.) And Gurren Lagann is getting its own sentai style combining robot toy in a few months from Good Smile Company.

Super expensive, but I can't wait to get that!

While I have owned super sentai toys before, I never owned a super sentai toy ater having experience it's Bandai of America iteration first. AND WOW. My son wanted Ninninger Mecha for christmas and I found that tose were the same price online on the secondary market as the BOA version (the main mechas/megazords are $50 shipped in box whichever version).
I'll be honest, I didn't think $50 could get you this good a toy these days. That main Ninninger DX mech is really gorgeous. Well painted, the plastic feels solid, there are a bunch of extra mechanisms for tight connections. It just feels really good, and I can't believe Japan would go the distance for what is still very much a child's toy down there. My kid will be really happy come christmas

Just a rumor but would not be surprising if this happens given it will have been 30 years since MMPR debut on Fox Kids in the states.

Price will supposedly be $33 so they may be putting more into these versions of the figures, likely going for better likenesses, painting in more details, possibly some additional accessories. At this point, it's a wait and see. I'd get them, just to pose them with the Power Blaster and Green Ranger off to the side.

This is neat, Bandai is going back and doing a DX version of Kyoryuzin (Dino Charge Megazord) that's mostly articulated at 15 POA. And it can be combined with parts of King-Ohger to form King Kyoryuzin (apparently in an upcoming episode). Ended up ordering one from Amazon Japan for around $104 shipped (compared to BBTS at $120)
