Greetings,
Before the movie came out I saw many people speculating that sentinel was going to turn evil, and I was wondering, what gave it away to you? What made you think it was going to happen? I would love to here how people figured it out.

Um.....I read a Wiki-posted plot synopsis of the movie about a week after DOTM premiered which detailed everything. (Slinks away, embarrassed...)

I heard a rumor of him being the big bad, but what cemented it was when Wheelie was watching Tv at the beginning, they go oh this the episode of star trek where Spock goes nuts. That wasn't foreshadowing...that was dropping hints like a cluster bomb. The movie paralleled a couple events from Dark Awakening (do to younger Prime doubting themselves and trying give back the matrix to their mentor, only Optimus took it in G1.) , so the turn from face to heel was expected.

I knew about it since the first time it was revealed in some novelization or something. I don't read those comic-book stuff myself, but this site posted all news about it. But I admit that I was hoping that it would prove to be false.

I think I have the worst... I found out a whole 2 days after the first trailer was released, I didn't even try to find anything out.

Some posted here about it without posting up any kind of spoiler tags.

People were talking and speculating about Shockwaves role, and then someone came and and said..
"Oh sorry to disapoint you, but Shockwave isn't going to be the main vilian. Its Sentinel Prime. He betrays the Autobots."
..Or something along those lines.

This is why i hate it when the novel/comic adaptions comes out before the movies. Spoilers galaore.

Because someone spoiled it on this site...I was trying to avoid spoilers for DOTM too...

But it's my fault for highlighting the spoiler tags. I just couldn't resist.

I avoided all novels/comics that came out before the movie, and stayed away from this part of the forum, so it came as a nice surprise during the movie

I first found out about it in a thread on TFW complaining about the lack of Leader Decepticons, where someone said that there was already a Leader class villain. It was in spoiler tags, but I'm terrible at avoiding spoilers...

I kinda saw it in his eyes from the trailer that he wasn't exactly a friendly guy, and when i read spoilers about him killing Ironhide then my suspicions were true.

I love the pro wrestling reference. I knew about Sentinel when I picked up a copy of the Transformers Vault book. In the back there appears to be a synopsis of the movies plot. I thought it was a bunch of malarkey because until then I didn't think anyone had a grasp on the plot. I chalked it up to Bay leaking more untruths to the press to throw us off. Turns out it was pretty much right on the money.

i was wandering during the highway scene. "why wont sentinel just transform and blow their heads off to the moon?" it drawed up suspicions. i read sentinel killed ironhide but didnt belive it or thought just an accidental fire. shocked in the whole movie though
but werent any of you wandering why sentinel didnt transform during the highway scene

Nope. I enjoyed watching Dino, sideswipe and Bumblebee chase with the Dreads.

The first pictures of the Voyager toy had his insignia scratched out. I don't know if that was intentional, but it made me assume.

Yes, the book I finished two days before the movie came out and I couldn't believe they leaked that in the book. :BANG_HEAD:

Despite hearing he killed Ironhide and the Twins, seeing his Voyager toy with it's Autobot insignia crossed out, knowing he had a few "Dark" repaints coming out, puzzled as to why Shockwave's voice actor wasn't being discussed anymore, and a few more hints here and there, I didn't suspect a thing.

How I knew was....I accidentally saw someone's post, kinda strange that at the time they posted, it had no spoiler tag yet they tagged IH's death.

I'd already heard IronHide died, just didn't believe it so I figured it was lies...

I did the EXACT same thing, and kicked myself for it. It was in the Toys thread where someone mentioned that you could build Sentinel's acid gun and they spoiler tagged what he did to Ironhide. Lame, but totally my own fault for highlighting.
